The Force is strong with this RPG core rule book!
Brilliant book for those who enjoy the Star Wars universe and want to get into role playing games.I love the layout of the book. It has all of the character creation parts in one section, the combat system in another and the 'fluff' comes in the last part of the book.I know that the FFG Star Wars dice system is a bit wonky at first, but this book has some really good examples on how to read the dice, so it becomes clear to new players. The Dice System is daunting at first, but after a few tries, it gets easier and easier. It was also was nice to have the book end on an introductory adventure for the players to start on. Most core game books do not do that.Another thing that really stands out is the production value of this book. Full color throughout, easy to read print, and the art. Oh that art! The art alone is stunning and really can help you get into the mindset of playing Force and Destiny! So if you just saw Star Wars and want to explore a bigger universe with your pals, THIS is the book for you!

And I love this book
When I saw the original FFG core books (Edge of the Empire and Age of Rebellion), I thought, "Cool...but when do I get to be a jedi?!?" Now, I can! And I love this book! As per usual for FFG, the art and production quality is top-notch in every way. Solid binding, and all that. The quality and fun of the FFG Star Wars RPG system is superb (as you can read about in many places)...and in my opinion, the Force and Destiny book really completes it. There are some -very- cool character options in this book, and from what I've found so far, they're quite well balanced. Here's just a glimpse of the fun and awesomeness that can be yours when you buy this book:We started a new campaign recently, and nobody knew what kind of character anybody else was playing. As would be the pattern with a new RPG group, I introduced a few basic elements of my character and told his backstory in broad strokes when it was time for that. But it was priceless when I went to roll an Athletics check for the first time...and grabbed a Force die. My friends were like, "Dude, your character can use the force?" I smiled and said, "Yep, that's how I roll!" Just the coolness of revealing my character as a force user...worth the price of the book right there! I know, you could make force-sensitive characters from the start, but it gets better. A few minutes later, my character was in hand-to-hand combat with a big tough Trandoshan bounty hunter, and it wasn't going very well. So then I decided to pull out my lightsaber (a training one, anyway). Cheers and expressions of surprise broke out around the table, as the formerly-cocky trandoshan was humbled. Yes, this book is well worth the price!Seriously, it's STAR WARS! It ain't complete until someone pulls out a lightsaber.... :-)

Beautiful Book
If you like RPGS and the Star Wars FFG system this book's for you. It is beautiful with lots of color pages. It is clearly organized and easy to read. There is good information on how to play the game as well as advice for game masters to build adventures, campaigns, and adversaries. As a core book, it is light on some features such as vehicles, but there is enough to get players going.

Good Game!
This book is one of three books, you don't need the other three books as they all tell you the same rules. This book tells you how to make a Jedi character to play. The other books tell you have to play other classes, but they all have the same rules. This book lets you make a saber wielding, force using, death machine which is very fun and easy to learn. I recommend you buy a campaign book that goes with force and destiny as it gives you an adventure to send your players on and its keeps the Jedi powers in mind. This book is a great first start and I would play it with a group.

... core ruleset for Fantasy Flight's Star Wars RPG is fantastic. The dice system is dynamic
The core ruleset for Fantasy Flight's Star Wars RPG is fantastic. The dice system is dynamic. It simultaneously adjudicates simple tasks and tells a story. The integration of this system into the classes, and rules is seamless. There are so many options, it is dizzying, but easy to understand. There are 3 core books, this being the 3rd. This long awaited volume contains everything you need to create and play jedi, and force users. Like its predecessors, it is simple, and utilizes the base dice mechanic. This is also my singular complaint. As beautiful as these books are, they retread too much material. The rules have not changed since the original core book Edge of the Empire. So why include all combat rules, encumbrance, basic equipment, etc.? Rather than include all the same material for a 3rd time, why not just include the material that is new? There are lots of new classes, races, planetary background, npc listings, some new equipment, feats, etc. There is more than enough new material to justify its own book, without charging full price for a core book.I love the system, and this gives us the heart of Star Wars: the Force. There is still a lot of new material, and you could run a game with nothing but this book. The quality of the paper, binding, and artwork, is fantastic. I recommend the book, with the knowledge that you are buying a some of the same information all over again.

Fantastic quality, beautiful art, very informative
This book is built really well. Great quality, beautiful art, and very informative on how to play the game, even for those who might be new to RPGs (That being said, I'd still start with the beginner game). The only minor downside is a slight knick in the front cover, but nothing close to being worth taking off a star. I can't wait to run this with my friends.Get the book! It's great. Have fun and may the Force be with you.

"You've taken your first steps, into a larger world..."
Arrived faster than expected, and in excellent condition! My family are HUGE Star Wars fans, and I've recently introduced RPGs to my kids - in part to foster creativity and to channel my autistic son's love of numbers & stats. This game has been GREAT!! The narrative dice system, with its "Yes, but / No, and" style of task resolution really lends itself to cinematic moments, and encouraging players to be active storytellers, rather than simply having the GM waffle on.My only gripe is that the game is focused SOLELY on Jedi/Force Sensitive characters - I realise that the other core rulebooks each focus on a different aspect of the character classes, but it would've been nice to have some provision to include some non-Jedi player characters (my son wanted to play a Droid)... that being said, I would HIGHLY recommend this game and I'm eager to get my hands on more!!
