asus rebate program is an absolute fraud!they have no intention of honoring their rebates.amazon should stand up for teir customers.i would not ever recommend asus to anyone ever!

Great price for a solid machine.

I recently bought one of these. Stock setup it was fantastic. When you start adding in a dedicated video card is when the problem arises. The build of the case is absolutely horrible. I have seen many OEM cases, all of which has front ventilations; this one has none, conpletely sealed front bezel, no fresh air for your components. I had to scrap the case in favor of an old case for better airflow since I added a R9 280 video card. Otherwise if you plan on using the integrated video card you should be fine. Also many people have mentioned that the fan is absurdly loud, again airflow, not enough air moving through the case so the cpu fan compensates by increasing rpm. I looked through many asus desktop and it seems to be a general trend to seal off front ventilation, really don't know why they would do this.

Once I got all the windows updates out of the way, the performance of the computer is very quick indeed, web pages come up all at once, not slowly like many other systems. The computer runs very quiet.The ASUS registration link/webpage do not work very well. I visited asus.com and found away to register there instead.For some reason ASUS have decided to partition the hard drive into 2 partitions. C drive is 150GB and the rest goes to the D (Data) drive. My documents/videos etc all go to the C drive, which makes the second partition pointless, most people will not even know they are only getting 15% of the hard drive available for their documents. I deleted the D partition and extended the C drive to fill the space.I like the ASUS updater, which checks BIOS, Drivers and application updates all at once. BIOS updates are overlooked by the average consumer, now there is a simple way to check and update the BIOS from the desktop.The only crapware the computer comes with is McAfee System Security, simple enough to uninstall.The upgrade to windows 8.1 has to be tracked down, it doesn't happen all by itself.
