The smell is a little strong, but it's good

It's great for my hair
My hair has always sort of flaked out my scalp, because it was dry. No matter how much conditioning I did, this stuff keeps my hair moist. Even with a perm, it stays super hydrated. It's growing too, since it stays in my head and not flaking all over the floor.

Good Without Heat Too
I rarely write product reviews,as this will be my second. I'm natural and my hair can't decide it's texture, so I don't use the typing system as I have a little bit of every thing in my hair. Some parts curly, some ringlets, some straight, some matted looking and some wavy,it's a combination of coarse and normal. Anyway, I received this yesterday morning and used it last night. It says on the jar to use with heat, but I don't like using heat on my hair and I straightened it not too long ago, heat right now is a no no. So, first off we have the all natural ingredient list: Mayonnaise, Jamaican black castor oil, Vitamin E, Avocado oil, Mustard oil, Grape seed oil, Lavender,Pimento oil. The smell is strange but I like it. It's like a combination of pickle juice, mustard and lavender. The lavender does a pretty good job at covering up the smell of the mayonnaise and such for the most part as the mustard smell is fighting to overpower it. The mixture is white and feels more like a light skin moisturizer cream rather than a heavy protein treatment. It's not thick but not runny, it's like thinned out mayonnaise. Once out of the jar and onto you hair it comes out white but then it 'melts' into your hair. I put my hair into sections and applied it that way, section by section until my whole head was saturated. Don't use too much, it says apply generously, not soak your head, that will just waste product, do it until you can feel something there when you touch it but won't drip off your hair. I could feel it soften my hair when I put it on, however since I couldn't resist touching my hair, it got on my fingers and it smelled like a cigarette or an ashtray. That's probably the smell of the castor oil that was covered by the lavender. It says to leave on for 20 minutes to an hour with a heating cap(Doesn't have to be a heating cap, it can be another source of indirect heat, steamer, hooded dryer, etc.)Well I changed it as I didn't use any heat. I put on a silk scarf, and covered it with a satin bonnet as I have a habit of loosening them when I sleep and waking up with them on the floor or somewhere in the bed. I slept with it on and rinsed it out this morning. I have never used a protein conditioner before but I knew what to expect. My hair feels stronger, although a bit drier, but that's my fault for not using a moisturizing conditioner and my hair is really thick already, so I can't say anything about that. Next time I will deep condition for moisture to combat the dryness. All in all a good product. I recommend using it once a month. If you have a good moisturizing conditioner, use that, but my hair probably needs something more afterwards.

Not what I expected
I know this is a protein conditioner but it feels very thin and drips a lot. Definitely use it in the shower. It smells terrible, and didn't feel very moisturizing at all. However, when I rinsed it off my hair felt nice. I plan to alternate it with deep (moisturizing) conditioner every week. This product states in 60 days it will reduce shedding, so I will update then if I see a difference. But even so likely I will not repurchase as I am seeking more moisture and a thicker conditioner.

Worst Thing Since Unsliced Bread
Is this some kind of joke? I understand everyone's hair isn't the same but ... HOW is it possible for a CONDITIONER to dry hair out this much? If I could give it ten sets of zero stars I would.I was literally petrified when I felt the texture of my hair after letting this atrocity of a product sit in it for 30 minutes. According to Google, protein is supposed to make high porosity hair more manageable by closing up the cuticles. Well, I'm pretty sure this product blew them wide open, or something, because I've never felt such ROUGH hair in my life. It's almost as if my hands were kinda getting dragged against it. MATTED LIKE CRAZY! Not even a detangling come could go through it.Keep in mind I had pre-pooed my hair and combed it out thoroughly before washing. It was tangle-free prior.Long story short, with heart pounding, I ended up rewashing my hair and put my regular non-protein leave-in conditioner in, and wore a shower cap for a couple hours. It's now 24 hours later and my regular hair texture has not returned. As if that wasn't bad enough, you know when you're washing your hair in the bathroom all the product runs down your back? Well, the conditioner left some residue at the back of my leg and back. It was ITCH CENTRAL. I showered again and rubbed the spots with residue with a washcloth but it was too late. I had already started to develop rashlike stuff.Like I said, I'm ok with a product that did nothing or little. I just can't understand how one could be this damaging.I was shocked to read reviews after the fact and see similar experiences. I didn't read any before. I just looked at the star rating. Lesson learned. And yes, it smells like straight up mayonnaise.STAY FAR AWAY from this product.

Rocky start but we will see...
Edit 06-14-20: My thoughts on the product itself now has changed, when I first started using product I immediately felt and saw the difference. My hair felt healthier and softer, the breakage my hair was having slowed ( or was happening less with not so much coming out). Although some the smell could be much for some, I just learned to mix it with some of my favorite hair product to dull the smell a bit. I will be odering more in soon future.Just received my product today to find it spilled in the box it came in and the box being damaged. Maybe no one cared that the box was damaged or thought it wasn't much of a big deal. Thus my scoring on product... Will update after fully testing what product I have left. Although I will say I do love the smell emitting from the product, it is a very tantalizing aroma. It smells like a citrus like scent and has a nice consistency to it as well.

Good product, great ingredients
This is a really good product but its about what's good for your hair type. My hair is 3B i would say. I used this as directed - left on for an hour... but that was too long for me. I now know that i just need to use this once every 2 weeks and leave it on for a few mins before washing out and then shampooing and conditioning hair as normal. Otherwise it leaves my hair lovely and soft but looking super greasy. This might be different for you. My hair has never been straightened or dyed so will soak these products up more, i believe. I do feel like my hair needs this protein mask though and although expensive, glad i have it.

New experience
I have armpit length relaxed hair and trialling this protein product as part of a routine. I used the whole tub as one treatment. I am putting it under a heat cap for 20 mins. So far, I would advise mixing the product with another protein or moisturising treatment as all the oils melt once on the hair. Will come back with feedback. My routine is protein treatment on dry hair, followed by hydrating shampoo and then deep condition under heat cap for 30 mins.

Amazing protein treatment!
I'm shook! I wasn't expecting this to be as good as it is! I shampooed first and then I left it on under a cap for an hour. I rinsed it out and my hair felt a little dry from the protein, so I followed up with a moisturising conditioner and leave in. My curls bounced back in an unbelievable way! I'm so happy! The smell is not as bad as other people are saying. It doesn't smell good, but it doesn't smell really bad either. I 100% recommend this product!

I don't like the smell but I like the way my hair ...
Product is okay. I don't like the smell but I like the way my hair feels after I've used it. However, I wasn't impressed with the packaging. The box was almost torn to shreds it was badly damaged in post and when I received it there was no receipt, it may have fallen out, but luckily the product to remain in the box undamaged.

Not for oily hair. Oil treatment and not a conditioner
This is not a hair conditioner. More like hair oils in a form of a conditioner. You would need to shampoo your hair again after using this because ohhh it made my hair super oily and flat. I’ve dry hair and still hated it. So if you’ve oily hair good luck.
