Amazon Basics Photography Sand Bags for Light Stands with Handle, 4-Pack, Black

I bought these to hold down the legs of the frame for my pipe and drape stands. I am very pleased with the quality of the product. The material is heavy duty and the double zippers and strap are sturdy. Although the idea is to fill the pockets on either side of each weight with sand, I decided against that as sand attracts moisture and can seep through the zippers. After looking around, I decided the best thing to use are river stones. As you will see in the picture, they are smooth on all sides to prevent tearing at the fabric of the bag and they come in different sizes which will allow you to decide how much weight you want on each side. One 20 pound bag of stones is more than enough to fill both sides of two of the weights. I bought two bags for the four weights and each bag cost less than $13. The stones came clean of dirt but I hosed them off while inside the bag and let them dry in the sun before use. This is an inexpensive, clean, and safe solution.

Nylon, not canvas. I use these to stabilize my poolside umbrella's. Canvas will rot after two seasons in the sun. These include a plastic bag to insert dry rocks which can then be placed in this black nylon, zipper closed covers. Great product. They come with small carabiner clips which I guess may be used for beach shades, I do not need them. Very happy with this purchase. Just make certain whatever you put inside is dry. That will insure the sack will last longer.

Great for the price point. It’s an Amazon basic product but it’s designed to be on the floor and get dirty. Zipper pockets were impressive though. Durability is good so far with use in and out of studio. So for quick cheap sandbags they are worth it.

The zipper on one bag was poorly finished and I consequently drug the pull completely off of the coils when I closed the zipper. It took me a good 20 or so minutes to put the pull back into service. Despite this small misadventure, the bags work surprisingly well. I was most concerned about leaking sand all over my studio floor. But the double zipper closure are leak-proof. I don’t move these bags around all that much. It follow, they won’t get much of a durability test here. Nevertheless, my sense is these things are reasonably well constructed. But I would not recommend them to a crew who are in the habit of tossing these things around a lot every day.

These Amazon Basics sandbags are easy to fill and hold steady once they’re loaded. The material feels durable, the stitching is solid, and the zippers don’t jam. They’re basic, but they work — great for keeping light stands or tripods from tipping. Nothing complicated, just reliable weight where you need it.

First, I'm so glad these did not come with the sand. Can you imagine what the shipping cost would be? And think of the poor Amazon driver; would probably get a hernia taking them to my door. Since they were empty, I filled them with play sand that I first put in sealed gallon Zip-Loc bags so the sand wouldn't leak out. I carry them in my car for weighing down my moth rig, used for nocturnal insect surveys, and it doesn't blow away when there's a bigger wind. Perfect for my needs.

Awesome sandbags. I’ve owned these for a while without a single issue. Not sure why you’d need to spend more money on something as simple as bags for sand. Great quality and affordability from Amazon Basics, as always.

Buenos acabados, costuras bien rematadas y reforzadas. No lo he probado con arena, sino con discos de pump y han aguantado bien pese a que no se reparte el peso de manera homogénea. Si se va a usar con mosquetones recomiendo poner mosquetones metálicos, eso sí, porque los que trae son de plástico y se ven muy endebles.
