So I will be real honest about this doll. First of all I'm shocked that no one mentioned the fact that we cannot zoom In on the mannequin. Hmmm makes you wonder, well maybe because consumers request for a more natural afro hair texture but instead the mannequin has Indian hair. Lol yes Amazon we are observant and notice the manipulation in mannequin to give the impression of nappy hair when in fact its Indian, Spanish hair like texture;but nevertheless what are we asking for? We are simply requesting for hair that we can practice braiding and I must admit, this hair does just that. I must add when received the doll, I was ecstatic, my mannequin appeared to have been through a whole lot, as if dumped in the dumpster while it was rotating all in attempt to make this Indian texture hair nappy. Rather comical but ide prefer more of Afro black texture but oh well. Lets be real, how many Afro-American willing to donate hair for a doll? I know I'm not willing to; with all jokes aside, I have not experience any shedding. This is still a doll type material and not a human head, yes its human hair, I would still not encourage much manipulation i.e pulling, yanking, as if she's human. Other than Amazon playing zoom in and two different dolls being displayed above type of games, its all good. You want nappy? find an actual human being I guess. Seems like this is as close as we'll ever get, for now.

I’m learning how to care for highly textured hair. So I’m using this for sets and practice coloring and cutting. She was a little tangled straight out of the box but the hair was really soft and manageable once I deep conditioned it. There hasn’t been much shedding, but I’ve been very gentle while brushing/combing. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was an actual curl pattern, rather than just a bunch of different random curly hair. I was a little disappointed that the curls are more of a type 3b-c rather than a type 4, which is mostly what I need practice with and kind of what I thought I was getting. But, it’s definitely a good start and I can always get a mannequin with coily hair later.

I purchased this mannequin head so I could practice cornrows. I was unsure about whether or not I should purchase this particular mannequin head but after seeing that it had such good reviews I went ahead with my purchase. I am not sure how this product got such good reviews because it is absolutely awful. First of all, even though the description mentions that the head has human hair, I didn't expect it to have gray AND brown hairs. I might be weird for saying this but the random gray hairs grossed me out.That wasn't my main issue though. My main issue with this mannequin head is that the hair is extremely difficult to comb. I've made numerous attempts to comb/brush the hair in order to part it in sections so I can practice cornrowing it and it's extremely difficult. I have to put in a whole lot of elbow grease to get a brush through the hair and despite all my effort, the hair seems to automatically tangle itself up all over again almost immediately. I also noticed several areas where some sort of white string is coming out of the scalp. I tried to pull them, but they won't come out. They just hang there. I would've tried cutting them off but was afraid I'd wind up cutting some of the hair too. Despite my repeated efforts to practice cornrows on this mannequin head, I haven't even been able to get a brush through this nasty head of tangly hair. I grew so frustrated I angrily threw it in my closet on the floor, which is where it is sitting right now. I've discovered the only thing it's good for is scaring my family members who have walked in my room and were startled after seeing a head on my floor or table in their peripheral vision. I regret this purchase and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

This doll is very nice i was a little afriad to make the purchase because of some previous comments but hey i took the chance and bought it The texture of the hair is more like hair that have been relaxed and a natural curl to it . At first the hair shed a little but not in great amount but after a few styles it didnt shed anymore. Its great for plaiting and takes heat well. I havent tryed to dye it as yt but ill find out very soon how it reacts to it. Otherwise I had no problems with the doll i would suggest that anyone wanted to learn how to plait and style hair this would be a great buy and it came earlyer than expected 😊

OMG!, I wanted to practice on my braiding, so at 1st i got the beyonce manikin then when i got it i was like this is pretty nice but its not realistic for the majority of people who braid their hair..so i returned immediately & got NAOMI Afro. I received it shortly and Oh My God!, i felt her hair and the richness and i was inlove (^_^). The hair is much like a sister that takes care of her hair. It tangles at the end but in a good way cuz that is very realistic. The length is perfect and boy i dont know what else to say. It does have a gray hair here n there but thats how most manikins R . So all in all, i'm almost satisfied..i say almost cuz i am reviewing this just today as i have received it. I havn't had it more than 2 hours to say that it will be good forever. But for this moment i like it. If u want to learn how to braid, i so far would recommend it. :-)

If I were to write review on the company it would 2 stars because of their deceitful description, they give 3 different hair length descriptions , it's my own fault I didn't read all of them, the doll's hair texture is not really that course but I believe it's still good to learn to braid, it will hold a cornrow or box braid nicely, it's the texture of non Afro hair that is dry and has had a perm, the actual head is not the same size as a human head either. I gave 4 stars because the actual product will still serve its purpose for what I brought it for.

I purchased this item awhile back and I love it. I use it for practing ideals on it before I do my own hair. I did receive the item ontime. Money transaction was not a problem. The only thing is I would recommend if you are going to purchase this doll or any doll head make sure you also get the stand. It is really hard to do the dolls hair without the stand to hold the head upright while you do the hair it's less stressfull for you.
