Does this fit the standard 16.9 oz water bottles?

Yes, but my experience has been that this item cannot properly secure water bottles and the bottle will slip out the bottom. I definitely do not recommend item.

Does the water bottle bounce & sling around when walking?

Depends on how you attach it to your body. If you use as a shoulder carrier yes. If you use as a waist carrier no it does not. You can adjust for a snug fit around your waist.

Will it work with a yeti 14 oz mug? the diameter is 4” the height is 3 3/4”. maybe too short?

The bottom strap of this carrier always moved on big or little bottles or yetis or comparables. Resulting in bottles falling out. Misdesigned junk! Don't buy. Does not work.
