Danger Overseas (Nancy Drew: Girl Detective and Hardy Boys: Undercover Brothers Super Mystery #2)

Stick to the old ND&HB books!
Written in first person with a "Mission: Impossible"-wannabe theme. Huh? Forget it. I was eager to read this so I could read books where characters have cell phones & women aren't expected to wear dresses in public instead of jeans. Nah, I think I'll go back to the old hardcovers my grandmother had. At least they were well-written. Read this book if you want something to laugh at (it's all unintentional, though). Read an older one if you want a good mystery.

Predictable but good
A lot has changed with Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys over the years, but fans young and old should still be able to enjoy this fun but predictable story.Plot - While the Hardy Boys are in Rome trying to uncover the people behind a smuggling operation, they meet up with Nancy Drew, Bess, and George who are supposed to be on vacation. However, Nancy, Bess, and George have a mystery of their own: they've found an amnesiac pickpocket that they are trying to help by finding out her identity. The teen sleuths team up to help each other on their mysteries and create an intriguing story that I loved.Writing Style - Now, obviously, the writing is intended for kids since this is a children's book, but the writing is also great for teens and adults as long as they don't mind "light reading." There is pretty much nothing bad in the writing, making it a clean, all-around good mystery. The one fault that I have with this book, though, is that it is extremely predictable! It's very obvious what's going to happen next that it doesn't keep the reader on their toes. Still, despite that minor flaw, the writing is still pretty amazing.Warnings - Minor Flirting; Words such as "suck" and "butt"Overall, it's a very charming mystery for fans of the sleuths, and since it features both male and female teens, it will be a good read for boys and girls. Even though it's a bit predictable, it's a fun read that I highly recommend.
