The opening to these weights is very small, too small to effectively put sand in. So we used water instead. It seems one of the weights has a small slow leak, so we may have to use sand after all.These weights have a recessed area near the umbrella center to accommodate a foot pedal to rotate the umbrella. I was shopping specifically for a product that would have allowance for this and also look nice.The weights look great! I love the garden step stone sort of pattern on top. I’m considering spray painting the top so it blends more with my patio.The weights are staying in place well enough, no complaints there.

Got this to replace the cinder blocks that had been holding the umbrella down. Looks so much better and the price was better than I have found anywhere else and I have been looking for months. Had our first big wind storm and I only had filled two of the pieces with water and it held the umbrella in place without a problem.

The weights are great, especially the 3 with no holes in them. I was so disappointed that one of the weights has a small hole in the top so loses water. The only thing Amazon would have done is replace the entire set, which is fine, but i didn’t want to have to empty them all and return them. So, I reached out to EliteShade to see if they would just replace the one weight. But they never responded back; and I didn’t care enough to keep pursuing the issue. I’ll deal with the leaky weight. That’s all. It really is a great weight set. If only I hadn’t gotten a defective one . . .

Works great to hold our umbrella. I do recommend filling with sand instead of water.

The media could not be loaded. These things were great fresh out of the package. Easy to fill with water and fit perfectly around my umbrella base. What they fail to mention though, is that the bottom side of the base has circle indentations and for some unknown reason they develop holes in barely 2 months of use and the water leaks out leaving them completely useless. You can see by my picture that i found out the hard way and my umbrella toppled over and broke. I now have to replace a 300.00 umbrella because these things were almost completely empty when I moved them to reset the umbrella. All the water had leaked out from the bottom. Either use sand or just buy something else. These were a waste and ended up costing me money

This base kit works great. The plastic caps need to be properly aligned before they seal, so be careful as you put them on. Otherwise, they work great. Just be sure to leave enough room for them to lay properly on the ground.

If you’re filling with water, get some plumbers tape because the plastic threads on the units don’t always match up with the caps. Two of mine were fine and the other two leak like crazy without the tape.

Worked great when I first set them up and filled with water. Then one day I see my umbrella in the pool and realized that 2 of the bases were completely empty. I go to fill them back up and water is leaking like crazy from a couple of the indentations on the bottom portion of the base. Would not buy again.
