Updated: Works best on straight braid, caught some fish today.
It's hard to get these to start plopping when you start reeling them in. They just want to move along like a powerboat struggling to get up on plane. Hooks are very sharp, on the plus side.Update: I rigged one on straight braid today and figured out how to get it to reliably plop. I caught 5 bass, with a couple around 3 lbs, and one about 6 lbs. I also caught 3 big chain pickerel, one of them around 6 lbs. After fishing today, I spray painted one white and one black. I want to see if the popular colors of the real thing work better. Will see tomorrow.

Disappointed
I had high hopes with this one. I've seen those ads where it looks really nice on water. It may just be a manufacturing defect but what I have, the whole body spins rather than just the tail. Not all the time but it happens every now and then. I just tried just one though that's why I am giving this a 3/5. I'll update this review after I tried the other two. I left the other two at home the last time I went fishing.

Made in China and they Sink
I didn’t realize these were made in China. I would not have purchased if I knew that. They also sink! They hook up on everything under the surface where I cast my lure. You can’t stop your retrieve and get it back on the surface without hooking it on something. Yes I’ve caught a few bass on them, but I’m going to stick with the original whopper plopper.

Have only used one and kind of works
I have used one of the lures and it floats towards the top and spins but periodically the whole bait spins instead of the tail.
