NIV, Life Application Study Bible, Third Edition, Leathersoft, Gray/Pink, Red Letter

I got this Bible after coming back to Jesus after a long time away. My exposure to the Bible has been very limited. I was lost in terms of translations, but I knew I wanted a study Bible so I could really dig into what the Bible is saying. Let's face it, there are many parts which really aren't that easy to understand, especially with limited background information. I took quite some time reading and listening to reviews, looking at excerpts, etc. I finally decided upon this Bible based on my research. I am so glad I did.Pros:-Breaks down all of the important points in verses and relates it to our struggles in today's world (hence, "life application")-Provides lots of historical background and context that most of us wouldn't know (i.e. custom practices in the day, political/governmental facts, etc.)-Absolutely beautiful (mine has the soft leather cover in pink/grey)-Red letter, so you can immediately focus on Jesus' words-Each chapter has a prologue and breaks explains the major themes/happenings/etc before the actual text-Highlights of the lives and lessons many people throughout the Bible-Maps in the back (full color)-A comprehensive index and dictionary/concordance (I'm still learning how to use this)-A cool set of charts showing how the Gospels all sync together-The NIV translation is very easy on a newbie like me. I've compared it to many other translations (via the YouVersion Bible App) and I'm really glad I chose this one. Its very readable and seems to be a good balance.-Two ribbon bookmarks. This is really great because who doesn't want to have more than one place marked!Cons-Extremely bulky. This is not something you're going to want to tote around. This is also not something I can comfortably read in bed, which is a bummer. I pretty much have to be sitting at a table to properly use it.-Because of the comprehensive notes, some of the pages are literally two thirds notes (though, on average, most pages are about three fifths scripture, two fifths notes, I'd estimate)-No tabs (but you can buy your own for like $5-10, which I highly recommend if you're new like me since the Bible is so lengthy; I'm still trying to remember the order of the books ** side note that I bought the tabs and prefer them over the "thumb tabs" on my other Bible for ease of flipping to the book I want quickly)-As others mentioned, extremely thin pages. BUT if you get "Bible highlighters" (I got Mr. Pen), they won't bleed through! My small children have successfully turned the pages (against my will lol) and haven't ripped them!I also want to add that I got the Thinline NLT Filament Bible because I wanted to have something to read in bed (as I mentioned, this one is really too bulky for me personally). I like that Bible also, and the translation is very good. The Filament app basically puts the study materials into an app (you scan the Filament Bible page with your phone) -- BUT those notes/videos/etc are (for the most part) moreso background information as opposed to "life application" notes like this Bible offers. But it is a much much thinner Bible.Overall, I gave this five stars. I'd recommend this easily to anyone new like me!! A great purchase that I'm sure will serve me for many many years to come.

When I decided to change my life and accept Christ into my heart, I felt like a newborn baby. I knew I didn't understand everything yet. I purchased a Bible and tried to read it because I believed that's what a good Christian should do. However, I struggled to comprehend what I was reading due to the language used. Despite this, my heart desired to know the Word and live by it. I then attempted to read a devotional, hoping it would provide guidance, but it turned out to be supplementary material rather than a guide. I still felt lost.So, I was on the hunt for a study Bible and stumbled upon this one that seemed to be the top pick. I didn't even think twice before ordering it, and boy was I ecstatic when it arrived in just a few days! When I cracked it open, I was blown away by how easy it was to read - it's all in modern English, but still has the original scripture in there too. Plus, on every page, there are simple and straightforward explanations of what each passage means and how we can apply it to our daily lives. They even throw in some extra resources like maps and definitions. But honestly, the best part of this Bible is the section you can see in the picture I shared - it's a game-changer and I don't even need to look for any other study guides!When I first started my spiritual journey, I really wanted to understand and live by the Word of God. But I have to admit, I felt pretty lost at first. That's why I'm so grateful for this book I found - it has a daily scripture reading list at the back that's been a game-changer for me. It's made learning so much easier and now I don't feel directionless when I'm reading the Bible. The way the book is written, with all the Bible verses included, has really helped me build a confident relationship with the Bible. As a new Christian, that's been huge for me. I just wanted to say a big thank you to the people who made this study guide - you've given me a solid foundation and changed my life for the better.

I wish the print was larger and the pages weren’t so thin but love the Bible.

She’s like 50lbs but she’s a beauty!!!! The explanation are easy to understand and so helpful. The timelines, the chapter summaries at the beginning of each chapter. The definitions at the end, glossary, whatever else. So good! Idc lol I’m taking her on vacay with me. And there’s still space in the margins to write! 10/10. Best decision ever!!

Only just started using this Bible. Haven’t used it that long, but thus far I am very satisfied especially with the footnotes. I chose this Bible because of the extra features for deeper knowledge/study listed in the pictures and ! Bstproduct description. I have not yet used these features but look forward to using them. When selecting this Bible I compared this one very very closely with another study Bible comparing the additional features for deeper knowledge/study. I ultimately chose this one because of all the additional information for deeper knowledge/study listed in the pictures and product description, which I felt was more what I was looking for than the other Bible offered. I have not yet dived in and used these features but look forward to and know they will bring me a wealth of additional knowledge as I study. Pictured are some of the additional features the Bible has that I have not yet fully explored. While taking the photos I was most pleased to discover the concordance is also a dictionary and defines the word first. I highly recommend this Bible. The only thing I wish this Bible had was sticker Bible tabs that came with it because there are so many extra resources the Bible tab set I bought didn’t have tabs for the extra resources.

I purchased this one so I’d have 2. My first one is the exact same one only it’s nearly 20 years old and I’ve written in it so much so that some ink has bled through the pages. I wished I’d spent the extra money to get it already tabbed. Luckily I know my books of the Bible but I ordered tabs for this one to make it quicker to find them

This Bible is everything and more. The additional content is not biased for any belief system it just helps understand the verses. I never study the Bible without this book anymore. It’s better than any of the apps I have too. Also the cover is so soft

I love this bible so much, the pages are a little thin so need to be careful but I love the study part it helps you understand and breaks down each part, I have dyslexia and so this bible is perfect for me, it explain each scripture so you can understand more easy what the meaning is.

Beautiful bible that everyone should have when trying to study the bible, it will not disappoint!!
