Beautiful, detailed and well built model. It worth the money.

I love Montery Bay Aquarium replicas. They are well made of excellent quality, and very realistic. Great features and detailing..very close to the real animal. I also have the humpback whale, and Baluga by Montery Bay and am a fan. All are wonderful replicas. I use them for educational purposes. This Orca whale is very real. I have another one that is slightly larger in size made by Papo, which is also a good company. That Orca is a bit larger about 2 inches and has a taller, more triangular dorsal fin..making it more like a male. This one by Montery Bay appears more of a female because the dorsal fin is much shorter and more curved. Females are smaller than males too, so I put them next to each other on my shelf, as though they are a couple which is cute. I should have a calf from somewhere too. Then it will look like Willy and his family from Free Willy!

I bought this to put on top of my toddlers birthday cake. It was the right size for a 9" round layered cake. I covered the cake in blue frosting that resembled water and had the whale sticking halfway out of the cake. Everyone loved it. My little one walked around with the whale in his hand for days. This toy is so pretty. It has a nice gloss to it and appears to be very durable with lovely detail.

A good killer whale toy. The paint details are accurate, and it even has a saddle patch. That's a big deal to me, considering that even among the high quality toys, it's stupidly difficult to find an orca toy with a saddle patch. It's made of sturdy plastic, so it should hold up to rough playtime. There are some minor issues with the paint, (in a few small areas, it's a bit thin, and a little bit of globbing on the others) and the mouth doesn't have as much detail as I would like. (though in all fairness, this particular model is older) The Safari Ltd. Sea Life killer whale has a better mold, though it lacks a saddle patch. This Monterey Bay Aquarium toy is still pretty nice and I would recommend it.

My child makes his shark toys unalive this orca toy: it’s pretty great, until his dinosaur toys find out and then they go destroy all the sharks. It’s a vicious cycle.. it happens multiple times a day.
