Current product IS "straight through"
The product I received is wired "straight through". As far as I can tell (testing with a multimeter) there is no cross-over of the Left and Right channels or any changes in the other pins. i.e. The "T" on the plug is "T" on the jack and same for the other connections.

Works Okay
My issue is, with cell phones that have FM radios built in and needs the headphones as an antenna, there are connection issues. The phone doesn't see the headset and sometimes the sound cuts out all together whether using the FM radio or using other audio. Fiddling with the connector then eventually settles until I move the connector. This happens with 3 phones. But I never expect that anything works perfectly.

Modified it to become a console mount.
I trimmed down the surrounding plastic so I could put in a drilled hole in the console setup and glued it into place then plugged it into the stereo headset. I have not used it as of yet.

Audio L/R is reversed
Good quality with springy coil that doesn't deform easily with the way I use it - but the audio L/R is reversed

Buyer Beware
There are, perhaps, half a dozen TRRS 'standards'.Were this simply an "extension cable", the standard manifest in the cable or device-connector it was procured to extend would be of no consequence; the signals therewith associated would be faithfully extended. Such is NOT this cable; doubtless, the reason so many report that it does not work. There is another class of cables (including cableless dual-port connectors) wherein signal pin-out changes from one end to the other in order to facilitate the interface of devices which manifest differing standards. Such are typically described as adapter or translator cables (or connectors). Such, also, is NOT this cable; doubtless, the reason so many others report that it does not work.Between its jack and plug, this cable swaps the 'Tip' and adjacent 'Ring-1' signals. There is no pair of standards whose interface is accommodated by such translation although both the CTIA and OMTP standards allocate left-channel audio to Tip and right-channel audio to Ring-1. For purchasers whose application involves these standards left and right stereo channels will be swapped spawning an outcome which may not be evident to the non-discerning; presumably the reason some report that it does work.It ought, as well, be noted that neither the subject cable's jack nor plug contacts are, as claimed, "gold plated".

I nice little cable for the price
There isn't anything fancy here, but it does seem to be good quality. I bought it because of the right angle on the male end and the coil. I plug and unplug headphones into the female end usually a few times per day as I low-tech switch my headset between my personal laptop and my company laptop. So far it has help up perfectly.

Good plugs, flimsy thin wires
1st thing I noticed when I receive this cable was how thin it was.I was expecting a bigger cable than that. The gold plugs seem sturdy with a good conduction. However, I'm afraid the tiny wires could easily breaks in a near future. Hoping the sleeve will do its job protecting them breaking. Also, I would have preferred a BLACK cable instead WHITE.windGhost

il est parfait !
Ce cordon permet un branchement discret vers le bas. Les spires s'étirent et assouplissent le port du casque (gain de confort)
