I suppose if you use this indoors and never let it get wet it might be okay. I have it outside in a covered location and the color is rubbing off the ball. Very disappointing as it was very pretty.

I purchased the smallest multi-colored one to fit into a very small stand, and was surprised at how colorful it really is. The colors are fixed, i.e., the color of the top, for example, will always be that color and there is a very small hole in the bottom, but quite nice nonetheless. I've only had it a few weeks and so have no idea how it will weather, but I'm quite pleased with it so far. They are surprisingly light in weight, however, and if I purchase a bigger one to sit atop a standard stand I don't know if thunderstorms and other winds will be a problem for it staying on the stand with no "neck" to help anchor it.

Very cheap looking not worth price paid. I ordered 12 inch and it was too large for my purpose but it was so not worth it that I wasn't too disappointed. UPDATE: RETURN POSTAGE DUE, unless dropping off at Khols.

I like the durability and warmth this sphere brought to my windchime that I am refinishing. I needed to replace the glass one that broke when the strings broke. This sphere is fired metal so I won't have to worry about it ever breaking.

I made Maleficent's staff for my Halloween costume, and it called for a gazing ball. This one was perfect. The colors made it look like it was swirling with evil magic. I was also very glad that it isn't fragile. While working on constructing the staff, my kitten kept knocking the ball off the table. I let her play with it until it was time for me to install it at the top.

We're using this ball as a prop in a show we're doing. We had a "crystal ball" that was a rubber bouncy ball but it melted in my car. This is a sturdy metal, and the colors look great under the stage lights.

$9 for one 3" ball is too much. Picture showed two.

What I liked most about this item is that it definitely looks like a glass mirror ball but it is much sturdier!
