The Robinswood Story Boxset 1: Books 1 and 2 Kindle Edition

(The series I purchased also contained book 3) This reminds me a lot of the old “God Is An Englishman” series. A family sage that follow two families – one aristocratic and the other their servants. The story revolves around three sisters in their search for love and meaning in their lives and the societal changes that minimize the differences between the two classes. Set in Ireland during and after WWII, the books paint in broad brush strokes the history of the time and the tension between the English and Irish while taking a deep dive into the lives of the characters.

Very engrossing. Impossible to not become attached to the characters. All of Ms. Grainger's books grab the reader immediately and hold on to the last word.

As soon as you start reading you become entwined in 2 very different families. The gentry and the servants. But war and time seem to meld these families together. I cheered at the successes, cried at the loses. Love of each other and love of family (be it biological or not ) wins over all.

I had been in the habit of reading detective stories and then I came across this trilogy of a family and read a review that it was historical. It was interesting and engaging following this Irish family through WWII and beyond. The author writes very descriptively so it was easy to visualize and get to know each one of the characters. It was a beautiful story continued through the three books.

I read all 3 books. The characters came to life. I shared their dreams and loss and love. I was touched.

Hard to put down , the Murphy's brought you right along side of them . Smiled , cheered them on, felt all the emotions they were going through, cried some too. Thank you Jean Grainger. Will be following your novels.

I truly enjoyed this book. Having the full series flowing one after the other was great. I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed the history as well. You want to know more of how this family went on . so nicely written.

Happy, sad, sweet, loving, intense! The entire series is entertaining and the messages profound. The characters have their own personalities and emotions. Enjoy!

Every book i have read written by Jean Grainger has left me wanting the story never to end . This series is no exceptionThe story of a family in Ireland and their trials and tribulationsThe family feel so real and it is as if you are there with the characters in the storyI loved these books and wish there was a 4th book in the series.

Just put this series down and didn't want it to end. I've found a new author who takes me into there world and feel there every emotion. I'm in the process of choosing another one of jeans series to read and can't wait to start.I don't think this is the last we have heard from Robinswood come on Jean give us some more please

Beautiful story wonderfully written a real page turner I would definitely recommend I didn’t want to put it down throughly enjoyed it

Fabulous story. Credible storyline and characters that had me riveted, I couldn’t put it down. I hope at some point you will revisit these characters in a sequel? Thank you very much. Books like this made my lockdown bearable.

Very easy reading, I nearly gave up half way through book 2.
