The Swiss Knife of Projectors (almost...)
I picked this puppy up just after the prime day sale when it got listed under lighting deals. My need of the hour was a Beamer with small footprint, with battery back up and wireless casting (something that can work as a ad-hoc screen in my bedroom and when i am out on holidays). The toss was between this unit, mini beam PW800 and PF1500. All Three units have there +/- so depends on what you are looking for - i think i couldn't have gone wrong with either one of them - just matter of how much money i wanted to invest in it. When the deal came on, i decided to take a chance with the PV150. Thanks to prime i received the unit just in time for my Holiday to Bali with group of 4 families (total of 11 folks which included 3 kids age group of 3-6 years). During the week long holiday this unit was pushed to the max My thoughts on the unit: +ve Micro footprint Next to non existent operational noise Battery backup (good to last for the Length of movies like Finding Nemo or Frozen) Mira cast functionality makes life so much easily (worked with Android devices, failed with Surface Pro 3) Acceptable Charge time Cost (Especially the lighting deal was awesome) works fairly week with ambient light, however it really shines in a controlled environment -ve Not HD (so for most of us its non issue - however if you are looking for HD this is a limitation) It has a Brick Charger (you will need have it in you bag when travelling) - maybe the future version can work work with USB (quick charge sort of capabilities) Missing Bluetooth - that would have been a killer feature I think overall i am very happy with my purchase, this little beamer was a super hit with all the folks (big and small) during the holiday - we used it by the pool at the breakfast table and even in the patio. I am going to add a pull down screen ( Elite Screens Manual Series, 80-inch Diagonal 16:9, Pull Down Projection Screen with Auto Lock, Model: M80UWH ) to help it shine whenever used indoors. Also considering getting a Bluetooth Transmitter for the audio.

A pretty good pico projector that is a step up from older models.
This is a pico projector with lower resolution and brightness compared to a full size projector, if you need a projector for large groups in a typical lit room pico projectors aren't for you. This is my second pico projector having owned the Samsung HP03 until it became unusable with the stuck DLP mirror issue. The Samsung was more of a novelty with its 30 lumen output and poor sharpness, it found very little use. This LG PV150 however can be quite usable if you can control the lights in the room. Video quality and color is good, the sharpness is even throughout the image unlike the Samsung whuch was soft at the edges. The buit in media player was able to handle 1080p videos, however it does not support DTS audio. Dolby Digital works fine as it is Dolby Digital Plus certified. The speaker is not very loud, about the same as a typical laptop but you have the headphone jack output to make use of headphones or external speakers. The remote is nice with all the settings accessible and buttons typically found in a full size projector remote. For displaying data like presentations from a computer you do run into the main limitation of this projector which is the low 854x480 native resolution. Small text can be hard to read and line graphics will be a bit jagged but it is usable in a pinch if you keep the projected image to a smaller size to get the better brightness and contrast. Most, if not all, modern laptops come with HDMI outputs so the lack of an analogue input should not be an issue. You will need an adapter if your computer has a smaller mini or micro HDMI port. I tried the wireless function with my Nexus 5 and it works fine. There is a a bit of lag though such that what appears on the projector is about a second delayed vs what is on the phone. As many other people have noted, wireless does not work with iOS devices. I have not run it on batteries enough to tell if the 2 hour claim is true. (UPDATE) Using the built in media player to play movies from a USB flash drive (x.264 encoded 1080P video) I get less than 1:20 minutes before it shuts off, I guess the decoding takes a lot of power. Overall I like it. As long as you are aware of its limitations in resolution and brightness I think you can find a use for it if portability is your top priority. I do wish LG included a case comapct HDMI cable and smaller power adapter to round things out seeing as they are marketing it as an Ultraportable Projector..

Great Projector for backyard movies with the kids
I've wanted a projector for the longest time but with so many choices, the process was overwhelming and I just didn't want to deal with more complications in my life. But when I saw that this was released in May 2015 I figured it had all the latest technology and would try it out. My sole purpose was to watch movies in the backyard with the kids. And IT IS PERFECT. I am surprised at how well this thing works for being so tiny. I am not a technical person so cannot go into details about specs and screen ratios etc.... but I can see it works flawlessly and looks great. I have plugged it in as I did not want to risk a movie going dark prior to the end and the kids in an uproar so not sure on projector battery life. I took another commentor's suggestion and bought this adaptor thing to send the sound wirelessly via bluetooth to my Bose speaker: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P20TFWM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00 and then I have an HDMI cable connecting the projector to a blue ray DVD player. I also got this outdoor screen which is SO EASY to assemble, you literally unfold the frame like an accordion and snap the screen onto the frame. I thought this was a great screen because of the freestanding legs....I could use this in our garage during the winter months: http://www.amazon.com/Elite-Screens-Yard-Master-100-inch/dp/B00MAPCZGA/ref=sr_1_9?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1438347659&sr=1-9&keywords=outdoor+movie+screen One last thing about the projector stating the maximum image of 100 inches.... I shined this onto a wall and it must have been 300 inches and the movie was still watchable. This thing has changed summer nights in the backyard forever. First movie we watched: Jurassic Park.

I love this LG Minibeam!!!
First impressions here. I will update later as I test all the functions, but out of the box and initial setup, highly impressive. This thing is light, small and easy to use. I was surprised by the number of settings, from picture quality, audio, sizing, volume, on and on. It has both auto settings for most functions, and the ability to tweak to your hearts desire if you like to fiddle. Casting my first screen, with sheer curtains on a bright California sunny day, it was a little hard to see. If you are going to buy this, it is mostly for nighttime/dark environments. However, I was impressed with the picture it did cast. It was big, bright (given the day conditions), colors were awesome and image quality was vivid. I can't wait for tonight!! The auto keystone feature is the best. You can set it to auto-adjust in a few seconds, or manually set it. I have mine mounted on a normal camera tripod, which I highly recommend. You can tweak the screen placement on the wall with the tripod easily, and it is very stable. You can also easily move it around if need be. Using the tripod, I flipped it up and onto the ceiling. Once the auto keystone function did it is thing, I had a movie playing above my head. This will be awesome to use while in bed. A couple of negatives; I have only tested the USB input, which works great. Just note, the Minibeam only accepts FAT32 and NTFS drive formatting. If you are using a MAC computer and work in large sized movies, that is kind of an issue. MACS can't write to NTFS, and FAT32 has size limitations of only 4gig. It unfortunately does not accept the exFAT format. Speakers are a little tinny, but I kind of expected that. There are a few settings for audio I have yet to try, but if you want great sound, expect to connect headphones or an external speaker. As noted here, it does not support Apple's Airdrop, but luckily I do have an Android tablet, so I will be testing screen sharing using my Sling TV and Kodi media player. Have not tested HDMI either, but will do so and report back. To sum up, excellent purchase at an even more excellent price thanks to Amazon's Prime Day!! Update: Still enjoying this device. Watched a couple of shows from the USB stick last night and the picture was HUGE and amazing in color and appearance. I did try to cast my screen Android Xperia Z3 compact tablet to Minibeam and it worked. It took a few tries, and I changed back and forth from the MInibeam's 2.4/5GHz signals and channels (yes, this thing lets you tweak channels) to get a good signal. Picture was awesome and I did not have any of the out-of-sync audio issues other reviews are reporting, but what I noticed after about 5 minutes, the picture started to lag on the Minibeam. It kept lagging about the same time period on each attempt, so I suspect maybe a cache issue or something inside the Minibeam. I finally gave up. So, buyer beware that screen casting via wifi may not work all that well. The user has to factor in their network situation, how many people are using the network, etc, so it is all subjective. I did try my Chromecast and my Macbook Pro on the HDMI port, and WOW.....really works well. Can't recommend the Minibeam enough!!

Don't normally leave reviews but this product is so junk I had to. Firstly we're an Apple household and this product doesn't work with Apple devices - so out of the box it was a bad buy. I still liked the look and feel of this thing so I made the effort and purchased a Windows device ( Nokia 1520 ) and figured I'd use the screen share with the Windows device. Spent several hours trying to get screen share to pair ( both devices fully upgraded with latest software ) but connection lasts less than 5 minutes. I should have returned to Amazon as soon as I realized Apple wasn't supported but tried to make this work and it's probably too late now. Junk - don't buy this if you want to connect a tablet. It works great with a HDMI connection, but I didn't buy it for that.

Really wanted to like this!
It pains me to only give 3 stars. It looks.... OK.... That's my main issue. I thought I could deal with low resolution but can't. I love the portability and the mirror ability. The color and video quality just can't cut it for the price. Got it on prime day for 260. I'm returning and spending and extra 100 for the ViewSonic pjd5155. For 100 extra I'm getting way better resolution, but most importantly the LG only has 100 lumens. That's simply not thought.. For an extra 100$ the ViewSonic has 3300 lumens! If you are really about video quality above all, I would look elsewhere. Need those lumens! But if you want portability first and foremost, it's a good pick. Plus battery lasts 2 hours. Most movies are longer. And if you have speakers connected to the headphone Jack on the projector, then you plug in the projector to run off electricity, you get interference sounds real bad. If I'm plugging in anyway, might as well get a full sized projector for a bit more. More disappointed about it then upset.

An amazing projector with some caveats.
I got this on Prime Day so this does color my perception somewhat. For it's size, it projects a great image and I hardly notice the low resolution and small resolutions bother me greatly. Speaking of size this thing is tiny. It can't quite fit in your back pocket but it's small enough to throw in a backpack or purse with a case. To my surprise it does come with a speaker but it's sub par at best. There is no bluetooth out but you can get a decent travel speaker for it and use the 3.5mm jack. The connection works wellbut there is no support for Apple devices that I know of because it seems to use Miracast technology. A good chunk of the negative reviews are due to this so if your using another device it should be fine. I say should because this may also be a problem for some windows users because Microsoft somehow broke Miracast with one of it's updates. On my netbook and gaming PC I am unable to connect ANY wireless display but on my small windows tablet I can connect no problem. If you have a Windows or Android tablet this should work well. If you have your Windows device and you want to see if your Miracast is actually working you can move your cursor to the upper right hand corner of the screen and move it down. That will open a context menu. If your device has a touch screen then just swipe from the left edge to the right like you were turning a page. tap/click on devices and then do the same on project. You should see "add a wireless display" if it shows you some options to project a screen a different configurations then you're likely going to have to do some work. Google "add a wireless display missing windows 8" and check out the myriad of ways to fix the issue. From what I understand you need to remove some network drivers that have hijacked Wi-Di.

Awww, its so CUTE!!
So, before I bought this projector, I read some reviews and almost didnt buy it. I am glad I did!! My set up is a bit different. My projector is set up in my bedroom. I have black out curtains and the room is pretty small. I thought about projecting on the ceiling but after experimenting, decided to project on the wall by my door. I would say that a minor adjustment was needed, not because the projector is too weak. It is more like after making this adjustment, the picture was better (brighter, the colors more vibrant). I painted the wall with a satin finish primer (white) and the picture was amazing. I use this to mainly watch YouTube videos, Amazon, Netflix and even some ShowBox. The screen share (or mirroring with my Samsung Tab S2 and Samsung 7) makes this tiny baby a GEM!! Instead of being stuck looking at a 10 inch screen, I can now watch the movies and shows I like on the wall with the equivalent of a 100 inch TV screen. The last two TV sets I bought were 32" and 42" and they both got fried in the last lightening storm we had. To purchase a 100 inch tv would set me back more than I would EVER in good conscious pay to have it and you cant just put a 100 inch tv just ANYWHERE. I paid $297.00 for this projector? And I feel like it is worth it. Now, realistically, I will not be able to use this during the day (unless I completely black my windows out). Im not really interested in doing that 1) I am usually gone during the day (work and such) and 2) I dont really want the room to feel like an actual cave. I had no problems with the sound (I plugged my earphones into the unit). Ive only had this for a day. But I can already tell that this is the bomb! Would this work in a bigger room? Probably not. Would it work in a brighter setting? No. (Once I turn the light on, the picture is non-existent). But who watches tv with the light on anyways?? Not me. This is ridiculously easy to set up and I was watching movies in less than 5 minutes (it took me longer to paint the wall). I am more than happy about this. The unit is quiet, it works the way I want it to, and I can now watch ShowBox movies on my wall without having to download them. One thing I would say: I have better results using my phone as opposed to my tablet? The screen mirroring is a bit wonky with the tablet but the perfect size with the phone.
