Can never cut through nail. The clipper has a defective tooth. -- (update: Seller replaced it)
Received the item in time and everything seems fine. except the nail clipper won't cut nail. After checking its tooth closely I found the reason. The tooth was not even and the lower tooth on one side ( the most commonly used side by the way) doesn't "touch" the upper tooth. It has a gap about half millimeter thin between the two that can never been fully closed. When I clip it on my nail, it can only cut the nail half deep and I can't have a clear cut even once.Waiting for the seller's response.==== update: seller contacted me ====After leaving a feedback about this issue to the seller, he contacted me and sent me a replacement right away. I have received the new clipper and it was working as expected. I love this little tool. I have been using clipper (not only for nail) on many things especially for fishing for many years. I always keep a clipper on my keychain. This is a very good quality one. Highly recommend.

Mostly sharp but poorly ground
I had high hopes for this pair of clippers, they seemed comparable to another pair I purchased from Amazon in the past. My initial impression was that they performed better than Drug store clippers, but not as sharp as my favorite pair. I would have given them a four-star rating if I hadn't looked closely at the edges. The left edge of the clippers do not meet up, it appears to be an issue with how they were ground and not any damage to the blades I could see. I uploaded a photo taken in front of a white background where you can see the white leaking through the closed clippers.I received two emails from the seller asking me for a 5-star review, or a chance to make things better if I felt they didn't deserve it. After their first review request, I sent an email describing my issues however, they have not responded except to send me a second request for review.Hope this helps.

Not very comfortable. The positive
It's definitely an improvement from my last pair of no-brand clippers, but it still does that classic cheap-clipper thing where instead of cutting the nail, it squeezes it off with a loud pop and you can feel the shock into your nail bed. Not very comfortable. The positive, however, is that it only does this on one side, so as long as I just cut using that side it's fine. It's plenty ergonomic as well; less issues with your fingers sliding up.

Excellent practical option for quality & user control
Primarily purchased this for 3 reasons:1. Stainless steel with solid design & a separate file (built in ones never work well),2. Case to protect both the clipper cutting edges & keep the two items together & protected and3. More reasonable price than many other upper end options, especially the klhip brand. The clippers were a little larger than I had anticipated, see the photo comparison of these vs. the long sold mainstream Trim Brand (W.E. Bassett) fingernail clippers, however this also makes them that much easier to use with excellent control, for both finger & toe nails. These clippers are quite sharp with excellent alignment of the cutting edges and are likely to work well for a long time, provided they remain protected in the case. The biggest problem, long term, is likely to be the case wearing out being carried in my pants pocket.Hopefully John Branch, Co-founder of Grooming District, and the other members of the company will make replacement cases available for purchase to purchasers of their excellent product.Review Update: Jun 03, 2017Good clipper but the case needs improvementUsing one of these for over a year, the stainless steel clipper continues to work fairly well and much easier to use than most (likely because it is larger than most, between the usual fingernail & toe nail clipper sizes). However after a year it occasionally comes apart within the case (in my pocket; as in 6th photo) & I have to carefully put it back together. The case needs improvement. Great that it is included and it keeps other items out of & dulling the teeth of the clipper. However, the case is quite oversized (length and width) for the clipper (as in the photos); I suspect for both ease of manufacture and to accommodate the inexpensive foam file which is longer than the stainless clipper. The file board is more short-lived, especially without its own protected position within the case so I finally gave up on the otherwise very useful file. Without a dividing layer within the case to seperate the file and clipper, the clipper rubs on and dulls the end of the file when stored without such a separator.Additionally, given the excessive size of the leather case, the clipper does not stay centered within the protective pouch and routinely ends up on one side (see second photo), the leather conforming to this out of position shape (especially without the file in the case.)Hopefully John Branch, Co-founder of Grooming District, will eventually address these issues and the possibility to sell replacement cases and files separately. They responded but so far have apparently not chosen to deal with these issues.

Clippers to last
Maintaining tactical packs requires the best of all the 'small stuff' that is so important to extended search and rescues. After many trials I believe we have the right tool for something usually not addressed. Toenail clippers! These clippers are so well-designed, so ergonomic, they are the ultimate for me! The protective case has a button-centered cover that is magnetic and once clicked in it's IN! Easy to open but a unique design. With the leverage angle of the clippers and the super closure of the case all you need is a couple of padded emery boards. They thought of that too! These tools are made to last and I believe they'll find good company with our dependable, perpetual equipment! Perpetual? Well, you know...

It clips a normal nail fine, but if you have a hard nail or ...
First the positives: All the items were clean, packed well and the black pouch can be very handy to carry the nail clipper around. Now the one MAJOR negative: The nail clipper is quite blunt. It clips a normal nail fine, but if you have a hard nail or if you are trying to clip some irritating skin under the nail (hyponychium), you will have a hard time.

Really cool to hold, look at and feel, but once you starting cutting, better be careful!
These clippers were a big disappointment, not sure how they have to many high ratings. While they are quite aesthetic, have a nice touch, and seem substantial and refined, there is a major design flaw. The angel of the blades are such that they easily 'bite' into the skin under the nail. I have never experienced this before, and I have to constantly reposition them and cut carefully. And while they seem quite sharp, they are splitting some of my nails. I kept trying them long enough that I went way beyond my return option... so now they're in my tool box.
