Real Mosasaurus Tooth Fossil - Authentic Dinosaur Tooth Specimen - Dey Designs Certificate of Authenticity

It's fantastic to hold an item in your hand that is over 65 million years old. It looks authentic but the "Certificate of Authencity" is a 2" square piece of paper saying "This document certifies that this item is authentic." Something a little more formal would be a little more comforting. Still, I'll be showing this off to friends as I discuss pre-Egyptian history and the human advance civilization that existed long before ours. It's hard to say "no" to the age of the earth being more than a few thousand years when you're holding the evidence in your hand that life on earth has been around for a long, long, time.

Some people are just complainers

The tooth arrived very quickly and well packaged. It's in perfect condition. Disappointed at the "certificate" which simply was a small phrase printed below the scan code on the sticker applied to the packaging. I've purchased these teeth previously from other sources and they have all been a really nice, big size. This one was small. The ad does say all teeth are picked randomly and will vary in size so I knew it would be a grab bag as to what I received and probably would end up being smaller than I was looking for, but for the price I decided to take the chance. The price matches what I received. In the future, I'll purchase from the other dealer that has a guarantee on specific sizes. Again, I will say that the tooth I received is in absolute perfect condition and would make a great piece for discussion and show-n-tell. My disappointment on the size does not mean I would give it a lower ranking since it does match the ad description, so I gave this rating a 5 star.

It’s a mosesaurus tooth. :) Actually it’s very pretty and a nice specimen. Not huge. Not to small. My boy loves his Dino tooth. I fashioned into a necklace and my 4 yr old is very proud to wear.

Tiny , very light weight, looks toothy

Got this as part of a Christmas present for my grandson who is into dinosaurs. It came with the certificate of authenticity. I framed it in a shadow box for him. He lost his mind with delight when he saw it. It was a win win present!

Excellent model to be used in nature presentation for youth concerning prehistoric animals

What they have pictured would be considered an A or museum grade specimen, but what you get is far from that! Ours arrived chipped, and apparently glued together. A little deceiving to say the least. Sure you kind of expect such variations with these things, but a better selling practice would be to show a batch of sample pieces, so buyers can see what they’ll actually get. The included “certificate of authenticity” is nothing but a generic printed piece of card stock which proves or states nothing to back its authentic claims. Two sentences on what the specimen is, where it originated from, it’s estimated age, etc is what a reputable certificate of authenticity would normally include for a specimen such as this. For what it cost, it doesn’t warrant a return, as it’s still a unique piece, but I still feel a little duped. FYI, I’ve purchased similar quality specimens for roughly half the cost of this, which is what this should be priced at.
