Insightful of the Unconscious
“The Cat, Dog and Horse Lectures” are Dean Frantz’s reviews of Barbara Hannah’s original six lectures (in 1954) on the symbolic meanings of these animals in dreams. Usually interesting, often deep and sometimes confusing, these lectures will be informative for those seeking the psychic symbology of animals in dreams … as opposed to those distracted by the stories that merely include animals. “The Beyond” is also another of Dean Frantz’s reviews of a Barbara Hannah lecture (1968). In “The Beyond” Hannah discusses our need for our own philosophy of what there is beyond our Earthly lives. How we live our lives, Hannah suggests, is influenced by what we believe about what there is after death. Here, Hannah is at her best in piquing our curiosity and provoking our individual imaginations. In addition to the shared psychological insights, this reading provides keen insights into who Barbara Hannah was as a person and a psychologist. An interesting read. Four Stars

A good book for anyone interested in symbolism
This is one of my favorite Barbara Hannah books. She writes with style and always adds new information to my Jungian background.
