My new manual for life
I received an advance copy of this book in prep for an iHeart radio interview with the author. The book shifted my thinking and feeling so much that I bought a Kindle copy as well so I could always have it with me to look to when I find myself not allowing myself to process through my uncomfortable emotions.Today, as I am writing this review, I keep having flashbacks to finding my mom struggling on the floor in 2017 after a massive stroke that took her life two days later. The trigger? The shirt I put on after I got out of the shower and went to my mom's bedroom to see why she wasn't up and about yet. I was getting dressed after a shower this morning and saw the shirt in my closet.I wanted to avoid the feelings, as I want to as I type this review. Instead I am allowing the tears to flow through and the grief to surface as often as it needs to. Feeling these emotions as they want to surface creates much more ease in my body and mind and leaves me feeling calmer and more at ease. I can feel the tension leave my body when I follow the advice and exercises in Dr Joan's book.Dr. Joan Rosenberg's book is filled with exercises to help you master the difficult feelings so any one, who is wiling to do the work, can embrace the confidence within, become resilient and live a life that reflects who they truly are. My advance copy is dog eared and the replay of the interview, and notes I took during it, are tagged for repeat listening. If you are tired of feeling tired or sad or angry or ashamed or any other difficult emotion, I encourage you to get a copy of this book and read it through once. Then go back and read it again and work through each of the exercises. Take it in small bites or embrace it all at once. It has made a difference in my life. May it do the same for you.

Insightful, Specific Strategies and Examples, Easy to Understand, Prompts for Reflection
Dr. Rosenberg, a highly regarded expert psychologist, has years of experience behind her observations and using her method successfully. Her suggestion that people tend to distract or avoid experiencing uncomfortable emotions/feelings resonated with me. The strategies I used to avoid even slight discomfort included behaviors that appeared healthy, but they were not. Other behaviors I used were self-destructive. Because I avoided the uncomfortable feelings, I therefore, avoided the source and missed an opportunity to address that. Using Joan's journalling prompts as she presented information was very helpful. I did not read this book in a few days. I really needed to take my time, even though I wanted to adopt her methods right now, today. I think this book would be great for someone who is on a journey to better understand themselves and develop the courage to experience and appreciate all their emotions - pleasant and unpleasant. (Note: No longer can I say good/bad...because all emotions are helpful/good. There are no 'bad' emotions.)

90 Seconds to a healthier mindset
I first heard Dr. Joan Rosenberg describe the concept of 90 Seconds to a Life You Love in a Ted Talk. I was intrigued, and when I saw the book come out, I had to get it. This book has a ton of content about emotions from a true expert in the field of psychology. A major theme is how we distract from our true emotions. I agree wholeheartedly! This book helps you 1) realize when you are running away from your true emotions, 2) face your difficult emotions (riding the waves), 3) choosing to live a life full of meaning and intention. It’s hard to summarize this book because there is so much helpful information packed inside. The things I found most helpful include:—> How to speak your truth—> Bad emotional math—> Dealing with grief—> Identifying and overcoming distractions—> Parental influence on feelings—> Visualizing decisionsAfter reading this book, I’m much more aware of the physiological experience when I have negative emotions. And knowing that they will only last 90 seconds. It is a game changer for your mindset. Also there is a tip in the anxiety chapter that I don’t want to spoil, but it’s genius! I use it every day.

Prev. unknown:) apparently, I have a slight claustrophobia problem. Will give it a second try.
.i have not yer had time to study this book, as yet. As an 89 year old Campfire evacuee (who has had a little over a year to confront the loss of home, car, furniture and all clothes except those on my back,...my time has been unavailable for personal pleasures. My one “skim” thru the book was very worthwhile. When i finish a thorough study of the book, i will send a conclusive opinion.

Dr. Joan's life work in one book! So grateful!
I love Dr. Joan's 90 Seconds book! First of all...I think everyone one of us have challenges with our emotions-sadness, anger, anxiety, frustration, loneliness but we also suffer from low self-esteem and confidence that prevent us from moving forward in life. This book gives you the tools to get out of your own way, first by helping you recognize what is going on in your body as you are "feeling" the emotions...that in 90 seconds, the physiological expression of the emotions will die down so you can you can stop worrying, stop obsessing, stop ruminating. She then gives you strategies to create new thoughts and feelings about whatever issue you have. Some of the best quotes I have ever read are in this book "The more you are able to face the pain you experience, the more capable you become." In Chapter 6, The Six Steps to Reclaim your Personal Power, is amazing: Step 4 is a big one, ask yourself: "What uncomfortable or unpleasant thoughts or feeling am I trying to keep out of my awareness". Just this alone can help millions of us get to know ourselves better and start loving and appreciating who we really are as humans and be more forgiving of others. This is one book I will read over and over again!

Very powerful and well thought out.
I have barely started to do it and I am already seeing increased confidence and well being over the past few days.A very practical and simplified teaching based on solid science and psychology-practice based observations of about 50000 hours. Very well thought out. It is taught here precisely, specifically and is ready to be implemented.I had heard many teachers say similar things but all that was vague and too abstract. They didn't tell what to do exactly, and they didnt say the body has an important role in our mental well being and feeling that we are capable.Buy it if you feel bewildered about life. If you have trauma, add TRE(David Bercelli) to the mix, to take care of the past while this helps you face the present.

Life Changing!
Dr. Joan Rosenberg gives us a practical, easy to apply and profound technique to shift into confidence, authenticity, and a way to be more peaceful in our lives by embracing our uncomfortable emotions, and the science to back it up. I'm already applying the 90 second Rosenberg Reset with visible results in my communication with others, asking for what I need, showing up with authority in my business, and moving my mission forward. Thank you Dr. Joan! - Jenny Hogg Ashwell, scribe of Love's Curriculum: Messages of Enlightenment

Five Stars
Bought this book a few months ago after watching the TED talk. I feel better in ways never before. The book has helped me understand, deal with and move on from difficult emotional issues with calmness and confidence.Dr Rosenberg has covered everything relating to human emotions in a simple understandable way. She explains how we can deal with them, using her 90 second reset process. Admittedly, it was a challenge to remember to follow it initially but now it really is quite simple to do. She has also given talks and interviews (available on You Tube) which are excellent. I have direct experience of how approachable she is. I made an enquiry about the kindle edition of the book and she replied to this herself. She now sends out regular emails (personally addressed to me), each focusing on an aspect of the book. I found this very valuable and feel that she is passionate about helping others.I can honestly say that I have been wowed by Dr Rosenberg and by the life changing impact her work has had on me. Thank you Dr Rosenberg! I wholeheartedly recommend this book.
