Nearly Bulletproof Portable Data Storage
I bought this after having multiple data storage devices fail for various reasons. A few went through the wash, others got stepped on or dipped in milk by the kids.Build Quality: VERY solid. It feels substantial in the hand and the parts fit together well with no gaps.Impact Resistance: Impressive. When screwed into the metal sleeve it is protected from direct impact, and two thick rubber bumpers. Most often it bounces when dropped. When it lands on the ends the fragile tip is still kept safe. When not in the sleeve the resistance is better than average, but that's a bit offset by the weight of the end. If you drop it on the USB connector from above waist height the weight of the unit may cause it to dent. Haven't tried that yet. Hoping not to.Water Resistance: Excellent. When screwed tightly into the sleeve the unit is nearly waterproof. And it floats! I'm not sure how long it would stay dry, but it's been through the wash a couple times without a problem. I doubt it'd hold up at all without the protective sleeve, but I'm not willing to test it to find out.Form Factor: It's quite long and the end opposite the USB connector is quite bulbous. This means it may not work in tight quarters. The USB end is narrow enough to fit in a hub amongst standard sized drives, but if you have a bunch of these they may not all work side by side.Speed: I don't have any USB 3.0 computer ports so I can't really judge the full potential, but it's as fast as any of my 2.0 drives.Travel considerations: With such a long stick and prominent end it's easy to get it caught on clothing if you're using it on a laptop near the edge of a table. I have to be aware when plugging this in when sitting in an aisle seat on an airplane so it doesn't snag people walking by. There's also a sturdy loop at the end through which you could thread a keyring or lanyard to provide extra assurance that you won't lose it or have it stolen without your notice. It's a very good product. Basically five star except for the size, which I'd give a three. There's no reason for it to be this long and bulky - even with the added protection.

bigger than expected, and faster too!
I bought the 32gb version of the drive Corsair Flash Survivor USB 3.0 32GB Drive (CMFSV3-32GB) and the moment I got this thing I was impressed, I mean the shear size of it blew me away at first; this is definitely not for those of you looking for a tiny stick it in and forget it drive. The whole thing is almost double the size length wise of my other "regular" sized flash drives and about that much thicker too. Really I knew it would be big but I was still shocked when I saw it.It has a little blue led light that flicks on and off when the drive is in use, (perfect faded blue color so it isn't annoying and glaring as some of them can be) and it comes as stated in a giant aluminum can type thing with rubber to help I'm assuming with the waterproofing. As far as read vs write, on a 2.0 usb port, (haven't yet been able to try it on the 3.0 it was developed for) I had write speeds of up to 22/mbs write and around 27/mbs read. that was transferring close to 1,100 files in all including around 600-700 pictures about 30-40 different files and the same amount of documents, and around 400 video files ranging from 56mb to 1.6gb in size. Took it about 35-45 minutes to transfer it all. Certainly not the fasted drive but not the slowest either. As for protection I dare you to find a better one, there just isn't one out there. This thing is crazily protected beyond anyone's expected need. I doubt I will ever need it's waterproofing up to 200 meters but if for some odd reason this thing ends up in the fishbowl or the shower it's nice to know I don't have to panic. and it's about as shock resistant as you can get too. I wouldn't suggest testing out how shock resistant, but lets just say this thing will survive and then some any slips or drops from your person onto whatever surface it hits.Needless to say this goes up to the top of my list right now of favorite flash drives. Might be a bit thick for most people to every day carry but I find that once you get used to it it's hard to not lug it along with you.

It worked awesome, but there was only one huge problem
It worked awesome, but there was only one huge problem. I accidentally bumped the thumb drive, with my legs walking by, twice and bent the connector (to connecting to the computers; sorry, for lack of quality term) of the thumb drive, sounds more easier to avoid than it is. 2nd time it stopped working, still cannot get access to un-believable amount of badly needed computer files. It is a lot of weight and not secured enough to prevent such accidents. An idea/one of my inventions to improve such thumb drives that claim indestructible, is to add 4, super solid/unbreakable, strong and little metals arms that slide slightly forward and even more slightly out (with the connector <to connecting to the computers; sorry, for lack of quality term> of the thumb drive) past the frame of the computers hook on to the frames. The opening of the thumb drives could have groves/indents for the hooks. The frame for the actual components, for the flash drives, slightly separated from the frame, for the flash drives, to provide ease for these arms to slide in. The super sealing and strong case is not touched. I have already told many people about this & even Corsair, one person claims there is such a flash drive and Corsair just ignored me.

Great little 'survivor' drive and rock solid build quality
I bought one of these a while ago but had to cancel as I later found out a friend had bought one for me... oops. The seller was very helpful and was able to stop the item from being dispatched and quickly refunded me.Anyway, I have had one of these for a few months now and I have to say that this is the fastest Flash Drive I have ever owned - compared to my other drives this is like a rocket ship with turbo boosters! it is heavy so be aware of that when you plug it in.I have to give credit for the rock solid build quality as well. It's neat and looks pretty cool, and the case isn't just for looks.A friend of mine at college decided to 'test' my Corsair Flash Survivor by throwing it against a solid floor pretty hard.I unscrewed the case and the drive was still in one piece, although when I plugged it into my laptop it failed to recognise the drive properly. However, all was not lost, the blue LED was still lit when plugged into my laptop so I knew it wasn't totally dead. I simply 'pushed' the USB connector into the case slightly and plugged it back into my laptop.Tada... it worked! The laptop instantly detected the drive and was able to access all the data without a further issue - proving how tough this drive is!I still have the drive, and I can tell you now that even after its' 'ordeal with the floor', my Corsair has not suffered any issues or further damage. So effectively, this is possibly one of the few drives in existence that will survive almost anything you can throw at it, and still manage great transfer speeds!I advise anyone who is prone to damaging Flash Drives or works in harsh environments to buy one today!

Sturdy stuff
I read some reviews when I bought this that mentioned the drive is big but in fact it is huge! It's big and sturdy thing ready to fly to Irak or some other conflicting zones on Earth and I'm sure it won't get damaged! I previously owned for 1 week a Patriot XT or something rubber coated USB drive and the cap got crooked when I put that into my pocket! Had to return the thing...but not this one. This one won't fit into a DHL van (kidding).Speed: works fine. Haven't tested on a USB 3.0 but perform well on 2.0.Other good thing about this USB drive is that you cannot misplace-it or forget it into your work computer usb port: you'll notice something is missing from your key ring.Very pleasant with the purchase and very pleasant with the delivery with that Prime option from Amazon. That's the reason I love Amazon because Amazon makes things easy for their customers.

Memory stick and a cup of tea please
We packed to go out in our camper. Teapot; laptop; memory stick. Sitting down to our first cup of tea we looked for the stick. Nowhere. Hang on, could it have fallen in the teapot whilst packing.Arghhh!Luckily we'd screwed it up tight (aircraft aluminium cover; o ring seal) so fished it out from among the teabags, let it cool down, tried it in a hub first just in case, and IT WORKED A TREAT.So the Corsair Survivor exceeded my expectations - if you're hard on your stuff it's worth the extra. We haven't tried running it over yet but watch this space.

seller did their best to resolve the issue
Got the item as ordered, seems ok to date function wise, its not small, but you are less likely to lose it or break it if you sit, tread or run over it, unlike plastic alternatives. It took a longer to get due to delivery service issue, seems my location hard to find, strange that, every body else finds it, well except one other which went bust recently, seller did their best to resolve the issue. Recommended item.

Well made and an awesome looking memory stick
This arrived and it is a a solid metal cylinder(looks like it has been injection molded). It looks good it performs very well and is very strong and feels heavy. You notice it slightly in your pocket and it is hard to loose.I think of it as a natureproof memory stick, recomended for adventurous people as it is:200 metres waterproof40G proofVibration ProofOnly down side is that if you have it plugged in you might not be able to plug anything into the ports nearest to it as it can take up 2 spaces.
