Santana: Live At The US Festival [Blu-ray]

There isn't a lot of quality vintage Carlos out there in videoland, making this show even more relevant. Playing in front of 100,000 people at the 1982 US Festival in San Bernardino, CA, the man from Jalisco is in fine form fronting a pretty tight (if motley-looking) band through a dozen, mostly familiar selections. Even the vocals - always a dicey affair with Santana lineups over the years - are reasonably solid. As a bonus, Herbie Hancock drops in on “Incident at Neshabur” with some funky keyboard work. Sound and picture are both excellent. Nice show.

Although it was recorded in the 80s this is very well done and it captures Santana at his best. Carlos adds some comments between songs that are very up to date. A very nice collection of some of his best stuff. I think this band that accompanys him is his best from over the years. It is really cool to see the crowd react to the songs. The recording is so well done that you can see the lead singer needs some dental work on his teeth! Great show!

A classic concert that I had seen on Axs TV on comcast and when I saw it was available on bluray, it was an instant buy. The comcast version didn't play all the songs that appear on this bluray. Such a great performance and nice to see one of the legendary incarnations of the band lineup. A welcome addition to my Santana collection.

Once again I didn't read the fine print, when I played the DVD it sounded somewhat subdued. Two channel sound, I mean what I was looking for a rousing 5 channel output. This is the second time I didn't do my research.

I ordered this Blu-ray dvd, I thought from the EU as sellers title indicated this, but it came from USA so will not play on a UK dvd drive. Only received a partial refund, so be warned, you’ll get a useless dvd and won’t get a full refund

Helaas speelt deze niet af op een regio B (of 2 ) speler. De informatie van Amazon is fout, heb hen daarop gewezen, maar ik weet niet of 't nu aangepast is, meestal doet men niets met dergelijke aanwijzingen.De verkoper kwam na mijn klacht met 't geweldige advies om een regiovrije speler te gebruiken, of sommige Pc's.Dat had ik natuurlijk nooit zelf kunnen bedenken..Gelukkig staat 't complete concert ook op You Tube in een goede kwaliteit
