I am a fifth grade teacher and got these books to read for my students. As soon as I put these on the shelf my students went crazy for them and were even arguing over who got to read them first. Even as an adult I enjoy reading these and sometimes I read them aloud. I would like to give you a small warning that some of the topics in these books could be triggering for some children. Some of these topics include death, divorce, and running away. But these are topics that children must learn at some point in their life, and through reading, they can understand these topics more easily.

I loved the artwork first . Judging a book by its cover. It was a reflection of the depth of the characters . Kate is a beautiful writer. She captures the soul of her characters . They are both whimsical and real . They have great insight and beauty.
