GLS Audio 100-Feet Ethercon Compatible RJ45 Cat6 Cable OFC Pro Tour Heavy Duty G-Shell G45

In my initial review, I had mentioned that this cable was designed and manufactured with quality in mind. It is a very robust shielded Cat6 Ethercon cable that deserves to be rated highly! ....... But I absolutely NEED to revise this review after receiving unparalleled customer service directly from GLS Audio. Here is why...... This 200' GLS Audio Cat6 Ethercon cable was purchased early Nov 2022. While on a gig in late Mar 2023, this cable received some damage (the end was accidentally knocked off), so I reached out to GLS directly and explained what had happened, asked about their warranty policy and provided my Amazon receipt in the same email. I was in shock that I received a response within the hour and was very happily surprised to see my claim escalated immediately!! Within 4 hours I received a notice from the 3rd customer support specialist, indicating that my cable replacement claim was approved and that I should receive it 4 days later ..... after I was initially told that this 200' cable was out of stock and may take about a week ... no biggies. HOWEVER, my replacement cable arrived here the DAY AFTER my contact with GLS Audio support staff!!! OMG! Be still my heart!! ❤️ Normally, I do not spend much time writing details in this area of a review unless it is due to extremely poor quality and/or customer service, but GLS Audio gets my full attention and appreciation here .... which I feel truly deserves 6 STARS out of 5!!!! Here is my email to their support staff ... I think that says everything!! These days it's extremely rare to get such great customer support ...... "I can not express to you how truly happy AND grateful I am for your TOP NOTCH customer service!! These days, in my experience as an independent entrepreneur, it is extremely rare …. if not impossible ….. to find customer care at a caliber even CLOSE to what you have provided to me! I have been providing pro audio services for over 30 years now so I can personally attest to this fact! I have a lot of colleagues, associates and partnerships in my line of work, so I will be very happy to pass along my experience with GLS Audio. Furthermore, I will be RAVING about you in my Amazon review … 6 out of 5 stars for GLS Audio!!"

these did not end up working out for my needs due to a product issue with the RJ45 conversion end. I ended up returning the cables because the cap does come off in the right spot to be able to click into my device and establish a locked and secure connection, and it kept falling out - I would have had to modify the end of the cable shield, and it wasn't worth it in my opinion. but in the short time I had the cables, I was very impressed with the overall build design and how rough and tough they are made. they seem indestructible, so I was quite disappointed when I was unable to use them. but because of no fault to them, I will still give them five stars on the quality of the cable alone.

I do live sound and run these to my stage boxes. I use Allen Heath SQ, dLive, Behringer x32, Soundcraft Si/Vi and these cables work great on all of them.

This is a solid cable, very strong and very high quality. I’m using this between a Behringer X32 at FOH position and an X32 Rack on the stage. As others have noted, one end of the shielding is not soldered, which was fixed by my soldering the disconnected side - a quick 5 minute job. IMPORTANT: some reviews mention that the cable does not lie flat - not true, it lies very flat, it’s perfect. When you first receive the cable you need to place one end on the ground and roll it out, rotating the entire roll of cable - do NOT just pull the cable off the roll or you will get coils all across the floor. If you roll it out it WILL lay flat. At this point, when you’re done, you can do the same in reverse to roll it up, but if you’re able to do the over/under coiling method, that works fine from that point forward (so the next time you use the cable you CAN just pull it off the roll, and do the over/under again to put it away).

So far so good. I purchased these for a body shop that has to run Cat5e to an internet capable car scanning tool. The ends twist off nice and simple to allow for these cables to be a standard Cat5e (Male-Male). The ends and the housing on this cable seems extremely robust which is why I bought it. These cables will be seen dragged across the shop floor where metal shavings and broken glass from damaged cars once were parked. So this will be the ultimate test. Also there the one end of the cable will be plugged and unplugged many many times, so I wanted something designed for this sort of "abuse" which the description claims it is meant for traveling bands who plug and unplug a lot! The piece on the end that can be removed is also metal in-case anyone wanted to know, not plastic. Overall I was very happy with the feel and apparent quality of these cables when I received them.

This is a well built cable. I’m a fan of GLS products. The only drawback is that it doesn’t pass phantom power. I believe GLS lifts the ground for Boise reasons, but there is often a need to pass phantom power, and I haven’t had Boise issues with ethercon cables that do pass phantom power. It would be great if GLS offered an version that does pass phantom power.

I used this 200ft Ethercon Compatible RJ45 Cat6 Cable to complete a run in a church from the balcony to the digital snake on stage. This cable replacement gave us the sheild cable needed for our digital mixer and works great. This cable is very durable so we could hang it in a temporary run until the permanent installation could be completed at a later date. Price for the cable was the best we could get after comparing several other sites.

This cable is well built and high quality. My biggest complaint is how stiff the cable is. I wish these were more flexible. They are definitely designed to be in one fixed location. Not really designed to be used with a line6 variax. I spent some time trying to ware in the cable a bit and heated it up so it wouldn’t coil so much and managed to get a bit more flex out of it.
