Moen Prep Series Disposer 1/2 Horsepower Continuous Feed Garbage Disposal featuring Fast Track Technology, Power Cord Included, GT50C

I had to replace my garbage disposal for the third time in 30 years. I decided to use Moen this time and am very pleased with the smaller size and easy process. The performance is great but maybe a little loud. I did wire in an electrical box instead of wiring directly to the unit with BX cable. A little more work but most of the disposals come wired with a plug.

I just installed it yesterday. Fits well and works well. Ruth complains about a high pitched whine but while I heard it, it didn't bother me.

It’s a garbage disposal! On initial turn on that thing hits really hard but after a split second of start up it flattens out.Instructions were easy to follow and I installed it in under 2 hours. That’s including the uninstall of the original. I’m not super handy by any means I took my time and read the instructions a few times when things were either hard to take out or to put in. Didn’t want to break anything. Now that Ive done it once I think I can do it again in under 30 minutes.Glad I got it on a deal.

The media could not be loaded.  My handyman installed this without any problems. I was a bit concerned because it was replacing a 3/4 horsepower. It's quieter and narrower than the one with the bigger motor and it takes up less room under the sink. This one does have enough power to handle the veggies and stuff I put down it though I am careful not to overload it and sometimes I have to let it run a few extra seconds. Sometimes the water seems to get stuck not going down and I have to open the rubber opening a bit more to break the vacuum. But all in all it's been a good product.

It’s not bad but it does have trouble. Not enough hp or the blades inside are too few/small. I ended up buying a strainer for the drain because I don’t trust it.

I was very disappointed in the lack of power that this disposal had. My old 10yr old disposal was way more powerful. So I am disappointed, and it’s definitely too late to remove and return... oh well☹️

It was easy to install, and overall it appears to be powerful and has quite operation. I also used the pervious mounting system which was identical to the one that came with the disposal.

I purchased this and installed myself. It was easy to install, much quieter than I expected reading other reviews and quieter than the other one I replaced it with. Seems to do a good job and no issues to this point. Overall a good buy.

Reasonably easy to install. Works very well. Very satisfied.
