This product is very sturdy, it's not cheap plastic. I would recommend this stand.
This item is self explanatory.

Defective, but Amazon replaced it.
This is not well designed. The post for the thread holder when in a secure position extends beyond the bottom of the base making the base rock. The 2 parts that are supposed to screw together for the upright thread feeder do not screw together. Even though there are screw threads, one part slips in without the screw threads making contact. I tried taping the 2 pieces together, but they are not stable. The base has no covering on the bottom to protect the sewing table. Mystified as to the reason this got so many good reviews,ADDENDUM: Amazon sent me a replacement and it is perfect! I cannot wait to start using it. Thank you, Amazon Customer Service.

Sturdy!
Black and white thread are so difficult to come across right now. My uncle was able to find some large spools for me, but I needed a way to use them with my machine. I had a thread stand many years ago that I liked, but this one is even better. It is heavy and sturdy and was easy to put together. I am pleased for the price and have been able to use it without issue.

Not perfect but it's ok
It is heavy iron cast, easy to assemble. the reason i'm giving just 4 stars is because the hole for the central pin screw is too big, so it can't stand by itself. is not a big problemi'm going to solve this with teflon tape.

Works great for cone spools
Needed a thread holder for cone spools to use with my home sewing machine and this works great!

The heavy bottom is nice wish the parts fit
I was going to return it and get something that actually fit together without issues, but it would take too long to get here. I needed it for a project. So I had to tweak it to work. The base is heavy and solid but the parts that screw in barely cough. It was like one was standard and metric screws that were the right size hole but the thread patter was off so I had to use some weld epoxy glue for metal. I glued the thread feeder rod together because it never tightened. It was like it was stripped. I had to put a brace with popsicle sticks to make it stand up straight while the glue dried. After the glue dried I put duck tape around it to keep it strong. I did try to just duck tape it 1st before using the epoxy glue but it still wobbled and was going to bend downward.I than glued the spool holder rod with a washer and bolt I glued them all together because the thread rod hardly screwed in the base hole and was very weak. The tall rod that the thread feeds through seemed to be ok on the base. It came with a bolt so I left that alone just in case I want to put it away for storage.I than took a piece of Plummer foam for pipes cut it down and taped it in the spool holder to keep it the cone spool in place from wobbling. Now I have a strong thread stand.

What I wanted
Just what I wanted at a good price. Sadly the screw thread part is a bit wobbly. I will use tin foil to tighten it rather than send it back.
