General Electric WB27X10810 Thermo Protector

Symptoms: Microwave has no power, plugged in but nothing displaying on the screen.My GE microwave model number: PNM1871SM3SSYear: aug 2010.Diagnosed the issue by taking off the upper vent, then the control panel on the ride side. Looked at the wiring diagram for a bit and then looked around and checked the ceramic fuses with a multimeter for connectivity. Those were good. Then I noticed at the bottom a burnt connection to the thermal fuse. I tested for connectivity and saw there was none. I looked around and found this part, seems to be a common issue.Replaced the fuse and the microwave works good as new. Will update this review if it blows again, which will indicate a deeper issue.UPDATE (October 2020): Though the rest of the world seems to be up in flames, my microwave is not - still works good as new!

GE Profile Microwave had no power. This Thermal Fuse located on top of the microwave had no continuity. Replaced and microwave is working again.

Usually when these fail it shows up as a burnt wire or terminal. It is fairly obvious. You can fix microwaves where these burn out pretty easy. Then you are a hero and everywhere you go ladies will shower you with their panties. It saves a bundle on microwave replacement.

Seved the Purpose

Be careful in repairing a GE Profile microwave that is several years old. The parts pages are very poorly made so as I did I got the wrong part that looks like 2 other parts. So it didn't work for me.
