How long is the rail? Do I have to remove the rear sights of the Mini-14 to install it?

Andy, sorry I did not get back to you sooner, but was in the middle of painting the house.  I cannot see how the rear sight had to be removed unless they were attaching it backwards.  The large part of the rail is the back part.  I cut the front of the rail off for my needs (fine-toothed hacksaw), filed it smooth, rounding corners, and sprayed with Brownells Alumna-Hyde black.  I then positioned the rail washers in the right location, scratched each on the outside edge for reference, mounted it, and tightened the screws, making sure the reference scratches stayed in the same place.  This is the hardest part but just go slow and the washers will fit where they are supposed to.  I then mounted a Nikon P-223 riflescope using Nikon A-Series medium scope rings.  Everything fit perfect and is very solid.  I did not see where I could send you a picture, but if you will send me your e-mail, I will send you a photo of both sides of the rail and scope showing the rear sight in place.

Can I reverse this? I have been desperately seeking a solution for our night vision scope. All others do not allow night vision close enough to my eye

I had the same problem mounting a night scope on a mini 14.  It can be done but requires modification.  -  There are 2 lugs on the underside that helps align the rail.  They must be removed to reverse the mounting.

Will this work on a Ruger 9mm camp rifle?

If by saying the Ruger "camp rifle" you really mean the Ruger Mini 14 ranch rifle, yes, fits it like a glove and is a good tight fit but use LokTite on the screws to assure they won't loosen at an inopportune time.  I've read the older model Mini14 guns take another rail but if yours is one of the newer ones, say past 5-7 years, it's a fit.  To be certain, you may wish to ask the seller to verify but you could always retun it if it doesn't work.  I have mounted on this rail, the EoTech XPS and behind it, the EoTech G33 3x magnifier and could mount another optic as well, plenty of room as its 10.5" long.  Good luck and mount 'em up.  The mini 14 is .223 so must be a different gun.

Will this rail moint to the ruger pc-9? the 9mm carbine...
