HABA Fantasy Blocks - 26 Piece Set for Ages 18 Months and Up (Made in Germany)

I love love love these blocks. My 8 1/2 m.o. daughter really likes them too. She loves to knock them down, which is great, because I LOVE TO BUILD WITH THEM. Daily I can't wait to sit and build with her, simply because I think these blocks are genius. The color schemes are great, the detail painting/designs on the blocks are interesting and somewhat psychedelic…I imagine that they are a real treat for babies developing eyes, mind, and imagination. I have mixed two sets that are very interchangeable. They are small enough that they pack away easily, but large enough that she doesn't choke on anything. The blocks allow us to build in creative colors, shapes, and sizes and develop endless story lines. Some of the blocks have bells in them, some wooden beads, some have cosmically colored circles that indent for babies tactile exploration. I read a review that the tiny red wooden knob on the end of one of the blocks (two blocks some with them) came off and was swallowed by a child, (no bueno)..but I've watched my own daughter gnaw away on it (she's teething and it is a treasure for her gums it seems) and so far it doesn't seem to be loosening in any way. I appreciate that review though so I can keep an eye out. I love Haba toys and we have many for her, but so far these seem to be her favorite. I plan on buying more sets so that I (yes me) can get even more creative. At 8 m.o. she's pretty open to whatever is put in front of her, but he attention span does seem to be longer for these…and because I absolutely love them I am able to sit for long periods of time and really play and be present with her with these blocks. Yes, you don't get a ton of blocks for the amount of money when you order Haba Fantasy Blocks. HOWEVER, each block is special. There are gorgeous crystal pyramids, blocks with mirrors, blocks with holes (perfectly sized for other blocks to go through), - even a block with a bell in it (which is m son's favorite.) We did take away a few blocks that were a bit small for my son (who is 17 months old) because we thought they were choking hazards. We will reintroduce them later.Where there is paint or decoration, there is an indentation so your child isn't going to be chipping any paint off. Each block fits with each other in creative, smart ways. These are really smart, fun blocks that spark creativity even in me, and I am in my 30s!I plan to order more Haba blocks as my son gets older. Totally worth the money. I much prefer these to a huge container of plain blocks that are not special or unique. After all, how many blocks can a toddler play with at one time, any way?

If you're familiar with Haba wooden toys and blocks then you already know the attention to quality and craftsmanship that go into every item. These Haba Fantasy Blocks are not only beautiful, but are providing hours of daily enjoyment for my one year old. Not an easy feat! These well designed blocks are wonderful for imaginative play and sturdy enough to withstand my toddler chewing on them throughout her playtime. Its comforting to know that they are all painted with non-toxic, vegetable based paints, which is another trademark of Haba that I appreciate. But PLEASE NOTE there are two smaller blocks that are small enough for my toddler to put them all the way in her mouth, and are thus not safe in my opinion for a 1 year old. The blocks are rated for 1+, but I encourage you to look for yourself, as I do with all of the toys my baby plays with anyway. I've pulled these two blocks out and am setting them aside for when she's older. Which is another wonderful thing about Haba...these blocks are so lovely and timeless that I feel they will be useful for my daughter for years to come, and I intend to keep them for future generations too. Can't go wrong with Haba!

I ordered this product sight unseen and 100% based on the positive reviews on Amazon. When I received this product, both my wife and I were pleasantly surprised how good it looked and how well it was made. No sharp corners and very bright colors. My 9-month old baby girl took to it immediately.When I was examining the pieces, I found one cube had a crack and I can see how it could come off if my kid kept chewing on it. I hope this is just an aberration and Haba does better QC overall. I am going to return this and order another. Good thing Amazon has free returns. I will update once I get a replacement.

I purchased the Haba Fantasy Blocks because I thought it was time for starter set of blocks for my daughter (she was almost 14 months) and I wanted something more colorful than simple wooden blocks. They have proven to be an excellent buy.First, the size is just right for my daughter's hands. Plus, the scale between the blocks appears perfect. (The rectangular blocks are exatacly twice as long as the cubes.) This kind of attention to detail speaks to the quality of the workmanship.Second, the bright colors are beautiful. We also appreciate the variety of shapes and patterns embedded into the blocks. These added details mean more available creative options simply by turning a block around. There is even on block with a bell recessed into the center which my daughter loves to inspect and shake.Finally, as an added bonus there are two triangular shapes made from clear acrylic. I like that most all the blocks are made from wood, but these two pieces can give at little flare to your buildings and towers. I believe this helps promote creative thinking.Overall, we have been very happy with this product and would recommend it to any parent.

Great set of blocks. Sure there aren't a ton of blocks in the set, but they are super colorful, and each piece has something different and fun to look at (a bell, mirror, shiny stamps, holes, different shapes, etc). We gave this to our 9 mo daughter for Christmas, which was a great addition to the Sticki blocks that she also received. Of course, she's way too young to build with the blocks, but her Dad and I are having a blast building towers just to have her knock them down. Looking forward to getting more Haba blocks in the future.

Some of the pieces are small and not suitable for children within the age recommendation. I have taken the small pieces out.

Ich habe die Bausteine für mein Enkelkind gekauft, weil ich etwas suchte, was ein Kind unter einem Jahr begeistern konnte. Ich war erst skeptisch, denn ich habe die Rezessionen gelesen und viele Vorschreiber schrieben von abblätternde Farbe, oder Farbe die sich durch die kleinen neuen Zähnchen der Produkttester abschaben ließ. Da es aber auch viele poitive Bewertungen gab und es sich ja um ein Markenprodukt handelte, entschloss ich mich sie doch zu kaufen. Und ich habe es nicht bereut. Mein Enkel war total fasziniert von den Steinen, besonders die durchsichtigen und der mit der Glocke im innern ließ er kauf aus den Händen. Auch intensives ablutschen und bekauen hat den Steinen keinen Schaden beibringen können. Natürlich sieht man Gebrauchsspuren, kleine Dellen im Holz wo die Zähnchen genagt haben, aber die Farbe blieb unbeschädigt auf dem Holz. Also für mich ein voller Erfolg.

Beautiful block set that fits in well with the other Haba blocks purchased at the same time. Lots of cool colours and shapes and some that make noise and reflect light.Reciepent has had lots of fun with them already

Certaines sont creuses, d'autres réfléchissantes, d'autres encore sont transparentes, ou agrémentées d'un grelot.Mon bébé peut manipuler les cubes à sa guise, sans risque de s'étouffer car ils sont assez gros; plus tard il apprendra à les empiler... et je suis sûre que le plus grand prendra lui aussi plaisir à élaborer toutes sortes de constructions!Une réussite qui peut faire un très beau cadeau de Noël!
