Pioneer Pro DJ DJ Headphone, Black (HDJ-2000MK2-K)

I had the original, non-MK2 version for 3 years as well. For some reason, I feel the audio in my old pair was slightly better? The other pair broke, so maybe I am just reminiscing on old times and they're actually quite similar. Regardless, they sound great. The biggest improvement for me with this pair is definitely the metal frame. The plastic on my old pair was completely cracked and broken in every which way. The new hard case is also a huge plus.It is missing the mono/stereo switch that he old pair had. I never used mono, so I don't mind too much.

Amazing headphones. The material is firm and sturdy, yet they are extremely flexible and adapt to strange/awkward positions that I put them in while playing my sets. Extremely comfortable and crystal clear sound.

So I've had these headphones since June. I DJ regularly (once a week on average) which is the only time I use these headphones.This passed weekend as I was putting them on my head...they snapped. (Photo included). My head isnt that big (7 and 5/8 on a fitted cap) and I wasnt over exerting them at all. I was just putting them on...I was shocked that it snapped so easily. For something 300+ dollars you would think they would be more durable. Perhaps mine were just defective as I looked online to see if anyone else had a similar issue and I couldnt find anything.It's a shame because these are beautiful headphones. Going to call customer service to see what they can do...will keep everyone posted!

Fantastic build quality, very solid construction. Sound is exactly what you'd expect from headphones in this price range, and I imagine if you're considering these you've already done your research and know what profile to expect.I also have a pair of the original HDF2000's which have started to come apart above the part where you can adjust the size of the band on each side - the MK2 eliminates the plastic sheath that is failing on the original version so I think the MK2 is improves upon the original's build quality, which was already considered one of the better built headphones.The presentation for the MK2 has also improved. The original came with a nice storage bag. The Mk2 comes with a hard structured case which has a zipper - which is a much nicer and stronger storage container for when they aren't in use.
