We love these clamps from Irwin! We have different sizes on hand to use on household projects. This brand is dependable and long lasting.

These quick release/trigger clamps work quite well. Note: they are NOT HEAVY DUTY - if you use them on a piece of stock that you are creating a lot of vibration on like what happens with hammering, then you should use the traditional screw-type G clamps, C clamps or the heavy duty ones IRWIN provides. In my experience they provide just enough clamping force to create widening joints (sticking boards together along the longer edge to create a wider board), such that when sanded the joint is hardly visible, but a heavy duty clamp always works better here. Cons: 1) The metal part does show signs of rust and that can be fixed with some WD-40 and fine metal sand paper. 2) The release mechanism works well but that metal part can hurt the finger when pressed and with long use it can make the finger sore. It would be better if it were made of a tough plastic or the metal covered with a plastic sleeve.

The clamps are great for what we needed. They aren't super heavy duty but worked just fine. We got them on sale and we were happy with the price.

Easy to use clamps for light to medium work. Can close them tightly with one hand. If you need clamps that can close with several hundred pounds of force, these will not do. But for many, many carpentry tasks, handyman tasks and household tasks, these are perfect. I've used mine to hold 2 x 12s in place on 6 x 6 posts while building a pergola, just to give you an idea of what they can do strength wise.

These are the best clamps of this style. I have the mini ones, 6" and now 12". They clamp tightly, don't loosen, and release with relative ease. They are plastic (like all of this style) but can take a beating and won't come apart under heavy loads like the knock-off ones. It is easy enough to remove the spring pin to allow it to become a spreader.

I've had this brand of quick clamps for years and love them. These new clamps appear to be of similar quality to my previous clamps and don't anticipate any issues.

A father's day gift, my old man got me in to wood working when I was a kid, he's been doing a lot lately in his shop (he's all but retired now), he used them nearly every day since father's day. He's looking forward to using them to help him set floor joists on posts in sono-tubes to help him build the floor level in a cabin he's building this summer. He used big c-clamps before, these are much better one handed with 140lb of pressure they should do the trick. I'll order him another pair of 12" on my next pay and give him an extra pair. Got him the 6" ones X 4 pack, hasn't used them yet.

There’s nothing worse than having clamps that either slip and slide and don’t maintain the grip, or feel like they’ll snap under load. These are Exactly the same as the Dewalt product in homedepot $40+ for one. Commercial grade. Good quality and not flimsy. And they cone in a pair. Put to use straight out the box. Which I have to add was oversized and a waste.
