A few years ago, at a meeting, I heard Michael de Baker talk for the first time about his view on the Intercepted and Duplicated signs. It hit me right away as being the deeper step in the discovery of the Evolutionary Path of the Soul. Being a dedicated EA Astrologer myself I immediately recognised the Gold in this.So I eagerly awaited his book.Upon reading is was not only the ’WHAT’ (content) that struck me but the “HOW’: He brings the Art and the Science of Astrology together in his method.The way he does this is of a subtlety and depth that surprised me.Carefully opening the door into the picture of the chart he switches on a soft light underneath the structure of the Evolutionary Axis.In a delicate and careful way he illuminates the Archetypes of the Intercepted and Duplicated signs before starting the analysis of the Evolutionary Axis.By doing so he adds another deeper layer to the multi-layered complexity of the Souls Evolution.In a clear and precise way he describes the method of Evolutionary Astrology to unravel the history and journey of the Soul.After completing the EA analysis of the Chart he switches on the full light of the Intercepted and Duplicated signs to reach a fuller understanding of their meaning and encoded messages.Thank you Michael, for further illuminating the path of the Evolutionary Astrologer and to open new vistas in our work.Geraldine Pontenagel, EA Astrologer

As a long-time student of astrology, it's hard to admit I have never read an entire astrology book cover to cover. This one is definitely the exception. I felt like I could follow and apply his method to my work. I admire him for making this book a treasure for me. It will help add depth and weight to my future readings. I intend to take his course going forward. Michael de Baker is more than thorough and makes his chart examinations refreshingly understandable.

From the title I thought the book would be about Intercepted Signs and the Soul. The author does a very through job of presenting some of the principles of Evolutionary Astrology EA. I read the first 46 pages of the 221 page book. It did have some good stuff about how EA relates to the Soul, but very little on the soul per say. From the reviews the book looks very good for students of EA who want to go deeper into EA. It had a few brief mentions about intercepted signs and two adjacent houses with the same sign on the cusp -- which always happens if there is an intercepted sign.

This book is a must for anyone who wants to get a comprehensive grasp of intercepted signs and hone his/her technique in Evolutionary Astrology. It takes the student step by step into the process via many chart examples with method and clarity. The style is precise yet lively (and certainly never pedantic or boring) as the writer addresses directly his readers as in a class. It is a generous book with not only many examples and a clear methodology but also numerous footnotes and a table of the 12 archetypes on 3 layers of apprehension. Lastly but not least, this book had a profound effect on me thus demonstrating, if need be, the therapeutic impact Evolutionary Astrology can have and of Michael de Baker's approach in particular.
