The good:These filters fit the fridge and don't leak. The water tastes fine,The Questionable:The NSF testing on these filters is not the same as the original LG filter. This filter is only tested for NSF 42, Chlorine Reduction. The original LG LT1000 filter is rated for 42 AND 53, Health Effects AND 401, Incidental Contaminants. Next time I plan to look for a better replacement. Do your own research on the NSF web site. The link is in the product description for this filter. Search for CF16 to see what this filter is tested for and LT1000 to see what LG filters are tested for.

Several months ago, I installed one of these as the first replacement on my new LG LFXS26973S refrigerator. These are advertised as a direct replacement for the original LT1000P filter. It seemed to fit okay at the time, and I had no complaints. Yesterday, I went to replace that filter and this replacement would not lock in place. I tried several times and it just wouldn't turn all the way. I examined the locking tabs and the soft plastic had deformed. I looked at the previously installed filter, and those locking tabs were also damaged in the same manner, but that one did manage to seal somehow.I've ordered a different brand and threw these away. Hopefully the socket in the fridge wasn't damaged.

Bought 2 of these - the first one I installed worked for about 2 weeks, then the machine kept showing the flashing blue light - it would make a handful of ice then stop. You could get it to go again by opening the drawer or turning it off and back on - which would usually make another handful of ice but sometimes not. When I took the filter out and used the screen instead the machine worked normally. Hopefully the slurrying of the water that was being choked off by this filter did not damage the pump.

This was my second order, but something changed and these filters no longer fit. I nearly broke the filter holder twisting very hard, but these are terrible. The photo shows a new and old filter. Interesting that only one of the three filters actually worked. Unfortunately, the return window has expired, so these will go in the garbage. Buyer beware.

Purchased 3 in December. First one was easy and quick to install. The other two will not fit! Time to replace the filter . Tried one then the remaining one .. neither one would go in. Replaced the old for now

Do NOT buy this filter. It damaged the filter head on my LG refrigerator that is less than one year old. Now I have to pay a to have it repaired. Don't trust off brands because it may void your manufacture warranty. Go to Lowe's or Home Depot and get the real deal. It is better to pay a little more for the name brand and not have to pay a repair bill.

So much better than manufacturer filters. I used these with my frigidaire refrigerator and recently bought a new lg. Never put the factory lg filter in ordered these to use from day one. Cheaper and better tasting water and ice.

Used this product in my LG refrigerator, it fit well and the water coming out of the fridge seems to taste better. We were using another brand but the water wasn't tasting good after 3-4 months, so had to replace it earlier than the supposed 6 months. The water quality seems better with this one, but not sure how long this will last. Will update later on the longevity of this product.
