It did the trick. When the power supply on our old Gateway machine died I got this to get it going again. The mounting holes didn't line up but I didn't care. All I really wanted was to get information off the hard drive. I know there are a lot f other ways to do that but this was a quick cost effective solution and I still have the computer to do other odd stuff with. It was well packaged and fired right up. Definitely worth the money.

Very poor quality
The price was good but the unit has a fairly noisy fan. I hope it lasts longer than one which it replaced - the fan bearings failed after a year. Ok, After less than a year, the fan bearing - actually not a bearing but a nylon bushing - on the second unit gave out in less than a year and started sounding like a garbage disposal running without water. Really loud! Do not buy this - spend an extra $20 and get something that will last.

I replaced a failed power supply in a computer with the exact model number power supply. The new power supply works fine, but the power cables that power the accessories are not the same. I was not able to hook up a second cd/rom because the power cables were different. I was unable to find any adapters locally, and instead of ordering a cable adapter online, am just doing without the second drive. If you are replacing a power supply on an older computer without the newer style connectors, you may have similar issues.

Reliable for a low-end PC with 1 drive...
I have had one of these powered on almost continuously since 2010 in a low-end PC (Intel 2.6 Ghz E5300 Dual core..). It only has 1 SATA power which is fine since my PC has 1 SATA drive and no other components. I replaced the original with a new one in November 2012 not because it died, but because the fan started to vibrate. I could stop the vibration by tapping the fan, but did not want the chance of noise when it was left unattended in an office environment.

Too bad this thing burned up after a week
As cheap as cheap can be (which is what I wanted), but I did actually expect it to work for the Frankenstein pc I smashed together for my girlfriend out of junk parts. Too bad this thing burned up after a week. RMA was quick. Replaced it with EVGA 430 W1 80+, 430W Continuous Power, 3 Year Warranty Power Supply 100-W1-0430-KR for only 10 bucks more( and of vastly superior build-quality). I would not recommend this Raidmax 380w based on my experience.

OK For Budget Systems
PROS: Reasonably quiet. Runs fairly cool, with enough reserve power for a basic build or an older system. CONS: Floppy drive connector wires too short unless CD/DVD drive is located close to floppy. Poor AC noise filtering compared to other ATX supplies - radiates a lot of RF hash back through the AC line.
