Amazing set of smart bulbs, I have linked them to Alexa and it works very well. I realise on the long run I'm not using the different colors very often except at the beginning when I was playing with them. I guess I could use them to host a party to have some disco theme at home...

Philips Hue is probably the leader in home smart lighting. It works well and integrates with voice activated assistants such as Alexa, Google, Siri - all at the same time for me. I have Alexa units, iPhone and Android phone all working.I wouldn't go with these dodgy cheap non-brands. Stick with Philips or other big brands like Hive. I have around 15 bulbs in my house and only 1 has ever broken - one colour LED stopped working so it didn't look right and couldn't do certain colours. I've had these bulbs for 4 years or so.

This is the second pack of bulbs I have which I use in the living room. I like these as you can set the mood in the room with theseI like turning them on as I am getting ready to go in especially connecting them to the hub. Turns them on from anywhere with a connection to the Web. Whether watching film or winding down after a busy day you have the option of certain already set light modes or make up your own with over 16 million colours per bulb the options are almost endless.

If you're looking at home automation or smart lighting and don't have anything at the moment, take your time before committing to Philips hue.Don't get me wrong, the bulbs are excellent. I've got a fair few in the house and they are great, life span has been amazing, colours are vivid and well rounded (some can be a bit off, but this is well know for LED's), but brightness can lack a bit sometimes.The down side, and why i would suggest caution, is the price! You're talking £40 for a single bulb in some cases!If, however you're already invested in Hue, then go for it. Add in a hub and look at the range and there isn't anything you can't do with them. We've got outside, inside and strips and when working together they really are very impressive.

I’m sitting in my living room watching Newcastle via Man U surrounded by Tokyo style lighting. I love it! The colours and options are great! Aurora is my personal fave! Even on white the lights are so much nicer and really set the room up.The app is great and no bridge required. Just blue tooth. Or Alexa which I don’t have.

I love this light bulb, it really has a fantastic array of colours and ability to change from bright to dark. When connected to the hub your options (via a phone app) to manage lighting are amazing. From time sensitive fade ins in the morning to location aware on/off ability. The only thing I can gripe about is that it isn't entirely obvious that it requires a seperate hub to get everything working.

I have a few of these in my living room. Works great for “TV mimicking” when I am not at home and I do occasionally use them for “colour looping” to achieve a certain ambiance.The colour is natural the effect can be very classy – not a gimmick.Works excellent in the appropriate room, but I White Ambiance is perfect for most rooms in my house.

I bought these as a package with my Alexa, they work well and have more colour variations than is possible! One of the first two was faulty so I had them replaced and they are fine, very easy to connect and control. As for cost to buy as a single item "very expensive " once the price comes down I would buy more.
