If you're stuck using NetLogo ...
If you're unfortunate enough to be stuck using NetLogo to model systems, then this is a good book for learning how to model systems using NetLogo. Ideally, you should dump NetLogo and use something with sufficient power to model complex systems well, in which case this book is of limited use.

Good for beginners!
This is a great book for beginning to understand complex systems and agent based modeling. The authors also do a good job of trying to make it understandable. However, they fall short of this in several sections, which can get confusing. Overall a good book for beginners willing to put in the work to understand what they are saying.

Great introduction to using NetLogo for individual-based modeling.
This is an excellent introduction to individual-based modeling and to the NetLogo programming language. It has many instructional code examples. The emphasis is on ecological models, but the book includes a few business-oriented models. This book is useful for classroom instruction, and it also has good support for self learners.
