Winsor & Newton Calligraphy Ink, 30ml (1-oz) Bottle, Matt Black

I bought this for my cousin and she loves it. The color is good. Looks just like the picture flows awesome Inc. qualities good very functional value. The money is good. Quality good. The flow is good. I don’t know about smudge resistant because I don’t use it.

I've got a degree from art school and I love working with ink. It seems like I've tried every possible ink on the market and this series is probably the best for me. The colours are deep and stable, it flows nicely and I can use either pen or brush. Check out the picture - I'm doing artwork for music albums, this one was done mostly with our W&N Sepia ink. It's cool to work with and the results are great. If you mix it with water you can get brighter shades of brown, more transparent and less opaque.

I bought this ink to use for place cards and it ended up really nice! It's not too watery like some inks. You have to use it on a darker background though or it won't show up at all.

To be honest the ink is as described! So if you are interested in buying it's a safe buy!

It's a lovely brown color, right between the threshold of warm and cool. The fact that it's not waterproof can really be either a deal maker or breaker for you though. I really enjoy the fact that I can dilute it and get a line as thick or as thin and light as I need. I'm primarily using it for drawing, and the subtle variance in value looks really good. It lends itself well to a charming, handmade feeling and hides mistakes well with its blurry nature. This is something I couldn't accomplish with a black india ink, which just made my small mess ups painfully clear. However, it's not waterproof in the slightest, even when dry. Just a small drop can smudge everything, so it's not useful for say, lining a watercolor drawing. Unless you do it at the end. Regrettably, as nice as this ink looks, I can only use it by itself.

For many years, Pelican sepia ink was a staple of my career as a humorous illustrator. When the Pelican began to be hard to find, I took a chance with Winsor & Newton’s sepia calligraphy ink. I found I preferred it, if only because it is significantly more waterproof when dry, allowing me to paint watercolors over it with abandon. When I ran out recently, I went to buy a replacement at my local Blick store, where I learned it was only available online. I figured that I might as well see if Amazon had it. It did, and, as a Prime member, I had a couple of bottles delivered the next day. Can’t beat that for service!

Buena calidad, colores vivos, no tsrda.mucho en secar. Si la recomiendo en plumas de inmersión ya que es un tanto espesa y podría dañar las plumas fuentes. Pero para inmersión excelente

This is a lovely ink to use, just starting out with calligraphy so needed a nice ink, this doesnt bleed, is not too runny and for some reason I write better with this gold than any other colour ( just me I guess) .it looks stunning on black or grey paper, clings to the nib nicely and dries fairly quickly although you do have to leave it a minute. I use it constantly.

Though colour is vibrant enough, the pigments used are very dense and will clog your pen. I made the mistake and regretted it. Will suggest for a fountain pen. Maybe for calligraphy, dip pens etc. May e even to be used with painting brushes. It was my mistake.
