Whisper Fan 360 Red

I got this when the fans on my old system died. From what I can tell, they don't really make anything cooler (they are just tiny case fans after all). While the noise in idle is nice and low, they still ramp up like the old ones and can be heard from downstairs when I play for about 10 minutes.I would say grab these if you need to replace a faulty set, but don't grab them to upgrade. The performance on these fans are not really what they are advertised to be.

awesome fan glows super bright and if you get a clear case like the ghost case it would be a super nice addition. xbox runs a bit hot still, but i think its mostly because the xbox is one i rescued from scrap, and i had to save from red ring of death fixed before i even could use it. very happy with t he puchase, and its great to have a good looking, functioning console. GREAT PRODUCT!

I ordered this to help prevent recurrence of the dreaded XBox 360 Red Ring Of Death (RROD).Firstly, "Whisper" is a bit of a misnomer because there's definitely noise involved; whether or not it's more noise than the OEM fans I can't say, I got the XBox in nonfunctioning RROD condition so i have no means to make an accurate comparision.Once the console is opened up istallation is easy and painless. After a simple swap the fans work as expected and - along with an X-clamp removal kit, some thermal pads, and aluminum heatsinks - the fans are helping to keep my now repaired console running at a "cool" ~115-120 Deg F. The red light emitted by the fan is unobtrusive, and not at all annoying or distracting; it adds a nice soft glow to the inside of the cabinet housing my 360.I can't say if this product is necessary to solve RROD or if it's sufficient to solve RROD on its own. I can say only that I took the steps that seemed to me most logical in resolving the internal heat issue that causes RROD, and a cooling fan upgrade seemed logical. After the aforementioned steps, my 360 is working without a hitch going on 3 months.All in all, a good product, worth the cost.

I am a professional computer technician and have worked inside PCs for 20 years. I found the install to be easy and painless but the net result is disappointing. After installing the fan I pulled my sound meter out and checked the decibels being emitted. They were indeed down significantly and the fans light looked great!Then I closed the case and put the Xbox back together. It was grinding... Ahhhh!!! So I disassembled again and looked for wires that may be hitting the fans... I didn't really find anything but I tried to clear what I could and reassembled the unit. Again, during test while Xbox was open it was fine but when I enclosed it again it started to grind. I squeezed the back of the unit and it stopped. Weird but OK.Then I ran under load - while watching Netflix or gaming. The sound is 2 decibels higher than the stock cooler. Worse, my Xbox experienced a RED RING OF DEATH while playing Kinect Adventures. This leads me to believe it's not "58% more" efficient. I don't think it's moving air as well as the stock cooler was and now I've opened my Xbox 3 times (twice during install and once for removal) for nothing. Bummer!The red light is cool. That is all I can say positively.

The fan itself runs and operates as expected -- however, I'm not sure if it was an issue with quality control or what, but I was forced to grind away excess plastic at the top of the fan before it would snap in correctly. Hardly an inconvenience for someone like me with the tools readily available, but it could be a serious impedance for some.As for noise level; it doesn't seem much quieter than the stock fan, but it certainly wasn't louder.

There are three reasons you might want this fan:1. To keep your xbox cooler than it currently is.2. To make your "jet engine" xbox a lot quieter.3. To make it look better with the LED'sWell, you can forget 1 and 2. My xbox is STILL over heating. Granted it does ok in the open, but if you are a normal person and wants to put it in an entertainment center, good luck. (Its right next to my PS3, which has NEVER overheated, so I don't want to hear it from all you microsoft lovers. Its just a garbage console, and this fan doesn't help it). Yes, the jet engine noise is still coming from my xbox when it fully powers on. I can barely play a freakin game with this thing. You can forget closing the cabinet door to dampen the sound, it will overheat withing 3 minutes.So, if all you are looking for is the LED's... It doesn't look too bad. Although I have read many other reviews stating that the LED's burned out within a few days, I haven't got that far yet. Just installed it yesterday.So to be honest, even if the LED's don't burn out, is that really a good reason for me to rip my stupid xbox apart and spend [...]? NOT AT ALL!!Not to mention it will void your warranty to swap out fans. (mine has already expired, so didn't bother me).

These are worth every penny. They look fantastic and keep my xbox significantly cooler. It looks even better if you cut the metal grill that covers the fan off. Great buy.

I will start by saying the Whisper Fan is made for the launch model of Xboxs only. I have the Resident Evil 5 Edition Xbox 360 and It doesn't sit perfectly because its OEM fan is about 15% slimmer. It still sits pretty firm just not flat. Because of that, it is a little bit noisier than the original. I still love it. It does indeed more way more air than the original and I love the red look in the dark. With any lights on, you can't see it unless you look right at it.

besser als der alte led`'s laufen auch gut und der lüfter ist kaum zu hören tolles teil und super optik

Le ventilateur permet vraiment de mieux refroidir la console, en revanche je ne suis pas sûr qu'il fasse moins de bruit que l'original.

Ventilateur silencieux et la couleur rouge donne un superbe effet en ayant un montage très simplifier . . . .
