Bought this at the same time as I bought a 2 pack of larger dedicated black lights. The black light on this showed the dye I used in my car coolant and dirt in a motel room just fine. It has only one black light LED so not nearly as bright as a dedicated black light flashlight with 52 LEDs but still works well. The white light is reasonably bright (at least with new batteries) and the front lens slides in and out to widen the beam or create a focused spot. In Spot mode it let me see leaves on a tree 50 feet away so it's reasonably strong. No, it does not compete with my friend's 2000 lumen flash light but is fine for regular use as a flashlight.You switch modes by pressing the button on the end. Each press puts it in a different mode. To get to black light mode you have have to go through 2 white light levels and the rapidly flashing white light. The rapid flashing light is fast so I find it annoying, but it certainly is visible.Casing is aluminum with a rubber button on the end. It has a belt clip built in and came with a strap. Uses 3 AAA batteries in a special holder and the whole thing fits in my hand comfortably with the end sticking out about an inch and a half. Feels solid. The zoom sleeve moves very easily.I would use this for walks in the woods at night, and I may take it sailing as an emergency man overboard light (I will not use it on the boat as it is too bright and would destroy night vision.) It now lives in my car door pocket.

I initially purchased this product because I was suspecting my cats of peeing on the bathroom floor. I recently brought home a new cat and there's a battle over territory that's driving me insane. I have a bad sense of smell and I'm constantly paranoid. I saw Jackson Galaxy using this product in his old show and I caved in and purchasing one. It's not expensive, so why not.OMG. The UV light has open my eyes. It's not my cats that have been causing a mess. It's been ME!!The toliet was so gross from the hard water, the sink and bath tube as well. The walls had this mysterious drips. My bed was also another area that was so gross. I'm so embarrassed to share, but I wanted to let you know that it works.In terms of cat pee/human pee, it does reflect on the phosphorous. It's not as bright as hard water. But it's definitely apparent.It's a decent flashlight. It has a really good weight to it and I think it's energy efficient. I don't really like how it's using 3 AAA batteries. but it's fine. It says 8 hours, which i think is an okay amount of energy, since it's pretty bright for a small flashlight.It is made of metal. so you could wack someone with it......just saying.My minor issue is I got a returned product. I know, because the instructions says to remove the plastic in the chamber before use --but it was already removed when i got it. I didn't return it because it works.

I use this flashlight in a correctional setting (ie, a prison), so I've been able to get a lot of use with this light every day for some time. Overall, it's a great value - if I get bodily fluids or contaminants on this, I won't be out hundreds of dollars.Pros:- Good value- Regular light is bright, but not blinding.- The 4 modes all have good uses.- UV light is useful for finding... um... "stuff" that might otherwise be hidden.- Durable enough to still be working well after months or hard use.- Good battery life.- Adjustable focus is a huge plus.- Recessed button prevents accidental toggling.Cons:- While durable overall, I've noticed the focusing lens is loose and "wobbles" when it's all the way out.- The UV light is not very strong/bright. It has to be VERY dark to get good use out of it (unless you're practically touching what you're looking at).- There is no mode "memory" so you need to cycle through from the default "Regular, Bright" setting every time. I think this is a standard thing on other lights as well, but it's mildly annoying to me.- I had issues with the power button popping into the main housing, requiring me to take it apart and press-fit the switch body back it.Overall, I would not hesitate to but this flashlight again or recommend it to a friend.

This is a great flashlight. I love that you can move the end in or out to adjust the size of the beam. It has 4 settings you can cycle through. Pressing the button slightly changes between them, or you can quickly turn it off and on. There are two normal lights, one bright and one less bright. Then there is the ultraviolet light, and a strobe light. The ultraviolet light works, but I wish it were brighter. We have a few cheap keychain-style UV lights that came with glow-in-the-dark toys, and they are MUCH more powerful.Overall, I’m very satisfied. I tumble rocks, and mainly use this light when I check them for cracks and holes, and when I take pictures of them.

I’ve been using this for about 2 years and I’m picking up another for my daughter to have her own. After reading some of these reviews about the brightness, I figured out my 21700 vape batteries fit it perfectly and it’s WAY brighter. Hasn’t caused any issues. Hope this helps anyone.
