BLUF: I recommend this item; it does the job and at a very low price point (~$16 at the time I ordered). It has a decent-sized surface with magnetic stays, three levels of illumination, and is light & easy to use. The biggest drawback is that it's USB (only) powered, so great for a stationary usage, not as useful for use on the go. Detailed review below. POWER: This light tablet uses a USB plug and does not have an internal battery. So don't try plugging it in "to charge" and expecting it will function once unplugged. If you plan on using it on the go, that may be a deal killer, but for me (I use it mainly for viewing negatives & slides) it's pretty much irrelevant. One additional note: I haven't tried it, but other reviewers have commented that if you plug it into a chunk and stick it directly into a wall socket, it will ruin it. I take them at their word & only use the USB on my docking station. Suggest you do likewise. The length of the power cord is roughly 55 inches. BRIGHTNESS: It has three levels of brightness & you can cycle through them by touching the power button. One touch=dimmest mode, touch again to increase, one more touch to brightest mode, fourth touch to turn it off. Works fine & no complaints. There were a couple times that I inadvertently touched the power button (it's very sensitive) resulting in the light going out, but it wasn't that big a deal... I just tapped it again 3 times to bring it back up to full brightness. I haven't noted any variation in brightness across the surface; it seems fairly uniform. LIGHT TABLET SURFACE: The surface seems hard and resilient. I haven't used it as a cutting board or anything, but it seems reasonably durable. It does have a textured surface, so if you plan to use it for tracing, that might be an issue, especially with pencils. For my purposes (examining film negatives), it made no difference. The entire surface is magnetic (not just the edges as some reviews have said) and the tablet comes with four magnetic stays. Very useful for holding items in place. The edges of the lighted area are mark in centimeters and millimeters. DURABILITY: My personal experience regarding this is limited because I only use it at my desk and haven't traveled with it or subjected it to any particularly rough handling. Like everything modern, this is entirely plastic. I wouldn't recommend cutting items on the light surface or pressing down on it with an degree of force, but it seems reasonably durable for office use and travel (packed in an appropriate protective case, which isn't included). I have read other reviews that say they had problems with the plug or the power cord going bad, but I haven't experienced that (I have made a point not to be too rough with that part of it just because of those reviews).

This is a nice, thin but durable light board. I use this for inking line work that I do. There are 3 levels of brightness, you hit the power button multiple times to achieve each level and eventually turn it off. The magnets are very nice for holding down the paper and the original image I am working from. Means I don't need tape like I used to do but that would damage the paper. The only trouble I have is this- if I print off an image in greyscale that I want to ink the outline for color variants, there are levels of gray that are more difficult to see clear lines through both layers of paper. But I don't think this is an issue with the light board and more that I need to up the contrast and the lightness in my computer programs before printing my art for doodling. This is about the coat I was expecting to pay for a lightboard. Cost/value is decent. I was actually thinking id be spending around 25 and this was 18 after the coupon.

This works great, very bright which makes it excellent to use for tracing. Wonderful generous size, easy to plug the cord into phone charger or laptop for charging, sturdy and operates well every time I use it. Great price too.

This is a great lightboard for the price. It's light, firm, 3 levels of light, and magnets help hold papers in place. The only drawback, and a very minor one, is the sensitivity of the power/light-level switch. I would be drawing and lightly brush the edge and the light level would change. Was frustratingly easy to touch it and have the light level change, but for the price - I highly recommend this - having 3 levels of light is great and the light was evenly distributed on the board.

Not only does Comzler make a great durable lightbox, but they also offer phenomenal customer service. I lost the two usb power cords to two of these light boxes that I bought. And it was way past their return date. So I contacted Comzler and they not only very willingly sent me two replacements but it was lightning fast. I was expecting a week or two but it took just a couple of days to get to me. I super recommend this lightbox and the company that makes them, Comzler! They are amazing!

I got this item for viewing negatives. It works just fine for that, and is sufficiently bright, although it could stand to be brighter. Note it has 3 brightness levels, so be sure to use the brightest. For viewing negatives, the brightness is not critical, because I use an app that turns them into positives and I can make my tablet screen as bright as I like. For viewing slides, it would be trickier if you have dense slides. The lighting is quite uniform. Well worth the price of about $17 today. The item comes with 4 rare earth magnets, which are very strong despite their small size. Although the instructions say to use 2A 5V DC USB power, the product itself is rated at 1A 5V DC, and I found no difference using a 1A power supply vs a 2.5A power supply, and the el cheapo 1A power supply did not get too hot. The only real question is whether the LEDs used in the product will dim slowly or rapidly with age. Cheap LEDs tend to dim rather soon.

I have a few sketch books, but I hate wasting their pages. I often use computer paper to practice what I want to draw before putting it in my sketch book. That or if I'm drawing a character and am having a hard time getting the eyes to match, I'll draw one on a scrap of paper and then try to trace it onto the character that way. It's also good for if you are reusing a background. This light board is exactly what I needed. Up until now I had been using my kindle or phone, which got frustrating at times. The little magnets that come with it make it even better. Getting the slips of paper with eyes or ears to stay where you want them to make a character's face a bit more symmetrical can be a pain. The 3 different lighting settings to give you options of how strong you may need the lighting. I tend to use the brightest setting as seeing pencil through paper can be quite tough. Though with the brightest setting, the one edge heats up quite fast, so don't trace for too long. The Light Board is lightweight and thin, making it easy to take with you, but to make it work you'll need a power bank like Ankor or something just to turn it on. There is no internal rechargeable battery.

When I received the board, it worked fine. Then, I put it away for a month. I brought it back out a few days ago and it would not work. I tried charging it, but it did not work. I kept working on it for a couple of days, and bingo! It turned back on! Sorry, Amazon! I guess may be light got stuck in flashing back on. I don't know but I got it back to working. You're good to go now! Back to my projects! I have bought a ton of items from Amazon and am happy with their prices and merchandise. I am not one to complain that often. I know I posted the negative report, but I apologize. :)

I bought this light board mainly to help my son practise his letter writing, and it’s been absolutely fantastic. He uses it almost every day, and it’s really helped him improve his handwriting skills while keeping him engaged and focused as he finds it really fun that his paper ‘lights up’. It’s both fun and practical! I’ve also found it very useful myself. I used it recently to trace a picture for a birthday card, and it honestly made me look far more artistic than I really am! The tracing process was simple and satisfying because of the light, and the end result looked super pretty. I’ve also used it with different coloured paper (yellow, pale blue and light pink) and it works just as good. The adjustable brightness is a great feature, one which I didn’t think would matter but it does! I originally thought it was adjustable based on if you are using it either day or night, but actually it’s easy to find the perfect light level depending on the paper thickness (something I didn’t really consider beforehand!). It’s lightweight, slim and easy to store when not in use, but it also feels sturdy and well-made. For the price, the quality and functionality are excellent. Whether you’re buying it for a child, for crafting, or just for fun, I definitely recommend it!

Très lumineux, parfait pour dessiner et pour calquer. Il y a trois intensités de lumière qui répondent à tous mes besoins! Il est même possible de calquer sur du tissu facilement avec la lumière! Vient avec le câble nécessaire pour le brancher et deux aimants assez forts pour bien tenir les feuilles. La grandeur est parfait pour les feuilles 8 po 1/2 x 11 po. Le produit est très mince et léger, donc très portatif. Il est très facile à utiliser, simplement le brancher dans une prise USB.

I have used so many light tables and so far, this is the best I have ever used for my animation! the table is very sturdy and comes a USB cord and 2 paper clips to hold your paper. Item has 3 VERY GOOD light adjustment settings for tracing your drawings. I can't recommend this product enough! If tracing or animation is your thing, then this table is your go to!
