Solid Controller for a Great Price
This controller, "Afterglow AX.1 Controller (Blue)," is a solid controller for a great price, and I highly recommend it for those looking to pick up and extra controller or replace one.Having been using it since my recent purchase via Amazon, this controller feels good, and has the glowing feature to boot. Specifically, the controller is officially licensed by Microsoft, and so the design and feel match that of normal Microsoft 360 controllers. While it is wired, and that can be a turn-off for some people, it works great for me and I'm not replacing batteries on my collegiate budget. The button response feels good (to me), not overly "clicky" or non-existent. It is also proving to be very sturdy, at least from my personal experience. The other main feature of course is the glowing feature. This particular model glows a sexy/pretty blue color, but also has a 3-way setting, allowing for the glow to be set to run constantly, run only when the controller vibrates (a neat feature), or be turned off entirely. And finally, it comes with a great price to boot. Unlike other third-party controllers I have tried at the same price, this controller successfully mimics the official Microsoft controllers with the added glow feature and for just over $20.I hope this review helps answer any questions you might have.

Awesome controller
This controller is very comfortable and the buttons are very nice. The bumper buttons actually click though which is different but while playing Forza 4 I noticed the triggers have a little stronger springs in them which is not a bad thing at all. The sticks are no different then microsoft ones I don't get what peoples deal is with them. The LEDS are also very bright and with the button to turn them off is very nice, it also doesn't say that you can push the button one more time and when the vibration starts it lights up.Someone said that it didn't work with the xbox, which I think they mean xbox and not the 360. I did not have one issue with the controller and my 360 working together. I plugged it in the usb in the front and hit the XBOX menu button and it turned the xbox on and 3 seconds later the lights came on.Worth the money to save on batteries and just being $4 more then the recharge battery back kit its worth having a modded LED controller!!

Looks cool, little harsh on the eyes
My son and I really like these controllers, we got a blue and a green. They glow like crazy and the colors are cool, but if you move it wrong the led lights shine in your eyes. There is a on/off/vibrate setting though, so you can always just switch it off. Having it on vibrate in a game like Halo 3 where it goes off every time you get hit means you may as well leave it on. Cool feature for the kids I suppose.Controls work great, buttons are easy, grip is comfortable. The cord is a lot longer than I had even hoped, so that's a plus. All in all a great controller for the price, I just wish they had used some tinted plastic to keep the lights from being too bright.

Super cool controller! Love the blue color
I purchased this for my son. He loves the size of it as it is a little smaller than the controllers that come with the xbox system. It glows very brightly, which can also be turned off, whichever you prefer. He also likes the fact that you can see down into the mechanics of the controller. With the great price, I wish I would have purchased a couple more of these. They sold out quickly at the price I paid. I would highly recommend for the gamer in your life.

Not satisfied at all
After a few months using this device I can not recommend this controller for anything other than browsing Netflix on your console. Since owning this product I've continuously uncovered more and more issues with it. Below is a list of problems I've encountered after a few months of use. ~ Sticky thumb sticks - The right thumb stick of my controller almost consistently pulls down unless given constant input. This not only hinders performance in FPSs, but also is extremely annoying for any game that has the camera mapped to right thumb stick unless your a big fan of ground textures. ~ Thumb sticks not calibrated correctly - I believe this has been mentioned in another review on this page so I know it's not just my controller alone. The thumb sticks seem to have an inconsistent sensitivity to them. For those who are not familiar with thumb stick sensitivity, load up any game you own and enter the options menu. Once there look for options pertaining to controller/camera sensitivity and play with the settings a bit. Notice that you are often unable to control your movement/camera because you are not used to these settings; now imagine this happenings at random regardless of your settings ingame. ~ Missing a headset port - Although there maybe a port on the bottom of the controller for headsets, none of mine will fit. This is mostly because most headsets built for xbox controllers have two prongs along with the actual device to help you distinguish your xbox's headset from your PC's headset. While we are on the subject I would like to point out that a normal cellphone headset WILL work in these controllers although I would not recommend using one. ~ Lights work, bit bright - As advertised the Afterglow does have a function where it will glow while you have it connected to your xbox. Honestly I don't care much for this feature due to the fact that it's very distracting when you are trying to considerate with light shining brightly from under your field of vision. Anyway this gimmick offers no practical use other than make you look ridiculous in a pitch black room. ~ Random shocks - This could just be my specific controller but over the past few months I've suffered shocks from the controller on three separate occasions. All of which have stemmed from contact with the headset port on the bottom of the device. I cannot claim this is an issue with all copies of the product, but it's happened enough times to me that it's worth mentioning in this review. ~ Random disconnects - Often coupled with the random shocks the controller will reset as if you just connected it to your system. However, this event also occurs at random with the previously mentioned shocks.Overall my experience with this product has been beyond disappointing and has alienated me from third party xbox controllers. I cannot recommend this product as anything other than a cheap back up to hold you over till you can purchase another controller.
