Snappy White Popcorn, 4 Pounds

Much less expensive and pops just as well as Orville’s!

We have popcorn every single day and so I think I am some kind of expert. We used to use Jolly Time or Orville and this Snappy brand is SO MUCH BETTER. It pops bigger and the taste is superior. We always use white kernels not yellow because we prefer the texture and taste.

Meandering through every variety of popcorn kernels Amazon sells - think I only gave one other 5 star review for unpopped popcorn so far, and that was for the pricey White Cat. Most are 4 star due to either smaller popped kernels, toughness or hardness, fussy popping instructions, too many hard bits, etc. Some ignominiously sink to 3 stars or lower, like some off brand I got at Target which was so hard, or a jar I got off Amazon that I slowly realized had a musty mold smell and went right out to feed the critters.At least the jar I got - this Snappy yellow corn, was popped in peanut or corn oil stovetop (I rarely do anything else after reading about the microwave popcorn issue) popped up well; very few unpopped kernels even with my lazy method - bottom of pot layer of oil, throw in 2 kernels, heat to popping temp; throw in 1/2 cup popcorn, reduce heat slightly and shake every now and then, get off heat when popping slows - this easily overflowed 3 quart bowl). Wow, impressive tenderness and good size puffs - not quite as big as Pop Secret but bigger than Amish kinds. Light, fluffy, tender, and fresh.I must've gotten this past years harvest, or these Iowans REALLY know their popcorn re drying to moisture ratio LOL etc.The only nit I have is the pricey White Cat to me had a distinct (faint) taste of sweetness but we are talking faint, faint, differences. It's hard to tell anyway after I dump on the butter and Hoosier Hill white cheddar powder. Due to the tenderness I wouldn't always pick this brand for popcorn balls etc. but u could. If I ate popcorn plain this would be a brand I would pick. I don't have a "hull issue" especially but didn't notice anything re hulls. Oil popping corn leaves a lot of hulls in the pot anyway. Overall, I will buy again and also try the white variety. For now very impressed and this stuff is a pleasure to eat.

This is an excellent brand of popcorn. It pops up perfectly and is not chewy. My only con is the last two orders I had, including the one I got today, the top was not screwed down on the popcorn properly. Also it appears that the seal under the red top was off as well. I was unsure about its safety so I re ordered it. Please make sure the tops are on tight before you ship. And that the seal is on. Thanks

This popcorn is very delicious! Excellent popping with few unpopped kernels, it's clearly nice and fresh. I especially love that it is certified non-GMO. You get to choose how (or if) you want to season it, so you get to control all the ingredients. It is so much better for you, and dramatically better tasting, too! Highly recommended.

I was hoping this popcorn would be my go to, as I read that it was close to hulless and had good flavor. The flavor is ok, and while it does have hulls, they aren't too bad. There are other popcorn brands out there that do better in the hull department and flavor. The biggest disappointment for me is how many kernels are unpopped. This is a one and done purchase for me.

Try this and get nearly 100% of your popcorn seeds to pop! That is, if you use a whirley pop and use plenty of coconut oil. It will taste just like theater popcorn. I have a subscription!
