Fly!

Hilarious!
I read this wordless book to a 4-year-old, and it is just hilarious. I think it is his favorite book. Also the fact that it has no words means he can "read" it to me! The pictures are wonderful, and the story is fantastic -- the little bird does't want to learn how to fly, so he tries to convince his mother that he can ride a skateboard or fly an airplane or get on a train all the way to Florida! Super fun to read to him since I can make up all kinds of fun facts about the pictures since there are no words you have to stick to. I recommend this highly for all kids ages 2-6.

complicated story line
The wordless story line is good. Wanted a book from which my preschooler could tell the story herself. The illustrations make the story understandable at first. Baby bird wanting the Mama bird to feed it. The Mama feeds, baby cries for more. Baby get bigger, Mama wants it to leave the nest. Falls and almost flies. Mama wants baby to fly. Baby wants Mama to carry him. That should have been the end. From then on it gets complicated. I'm not even sure my 9 yr old could make a story of it. The kids would be bored before finishing this one. So it is going back.

Love it!
Found this at our local library and we fell in love with it immediately! At Christmas time, we got it as a gift for my brother in law to read to his new born twins. He has dyslexia and since this book has no words but you tell the story based on the pictures, we thought it would be a perfect way for him to read to his babies! Once we gave it to them. He was very touched and was excited to get the chance to read to his babies at bedtime!

Amazing illustrations!
Fantastic illustrations!! This book has almost no words, yet it tells a vivid story! My daughter (who is not quite able to read yet) loved that she could make up her own words to read the story to me! Highly recommend!

Preschoolers love it!
I shared this book with a pre-school class of 3 yr olds. They were very attentive to the story and the stubborn baby bird. Loved it!

So sweet!
We love the sweet pictures and humor. A fun read aloud interpreting the pictures with little ones who love to look for details.

Super cute!
Sometimes words are not even necessary, and that's exactly what makes this book fly from page to page. The title says it all: fly! A baby bird has been nurtured by its mother and has finally reached the point, where it should learn to spread its own wings. But the nest is very high in the tree and the ground is a long way down. And how does one fly, anyway?I can't imagine young readers not liking this book. There are no words...a plus for those who love to flip through books on their own...and yet, none are necessary. The illustrations say it all. The little bird is such a cutie, especially since it starts out small before growing to the size, where it needs to learn how to fly. The first scenes of the mother's care warm the heart. But the baby bird isn't always a joy to be around. These pages are packed with scenes and moments which are sure to draw a few giggles and many smiles. First, the little bird has a bit of an attitude. Add its very active imagination and a mother, who only lets the bird push her so far...and it's quite a fun adventure. It's a book, which is sure to become a favorite.I received a complimentary copy and found it to be such a fun 'read' that I'm leaving my honest thoughts.

A Story with no Words
fly! is a story done with illustrations and no words. Illustration bubbles above the mommy bird and baby (teen) bird tell the entire story. Teague captures animal behavior well and develops character for both birds via personality through their actions and "dialog" between them.Baby bird doesn't want to leave the nest where his mother feeds and protects him. Mother tells him he's getting bigger and birds are birds. Birds fly. Soon they will migrate to Florida (Welcome to Florida sign), and he needs to learn to fly. Baby bird imagines flying on a hang glider or using superhero powers complete with cape to fly, or maybe he can take a train or skateboard to Florida. Mother tells him in order to get food and stay safe from predators like cats and owls, he must learn to fly. That does it! The image of an evil owl sends baby bird into the air.A sweet animal story and a mother's love for her child make fly! a special book. Young readers will have a blast creating dialog for each two-page spread. Early learners and creative writers could use the picture book to develop their own stories.Highly recommended for all young readers and creative writers.See all my middle grade and young adult reviews at Young Adult Books--What We're Reading Now@Cybils judge 2017-present

Semplicemente spassoso

Good book!
The book was nice. But I saw a lot of scratches on the cover of the book maybe because of too much shake inside the box. But all in all, I love it and it came on time. Thanks.
