Too bad they crackle constantly
The crackling is overwhelming. I think there must be an issue with the radio circuitry not being isolated from the speaker. It crackles whenever I turn my head a certain direction. Must be some kind of interference. The microphone seems to be very good quality and calls sound great. Nobody asked me to repeat myself (unlike my Bluetooth earbud). The mic can't move very far from your mouth and cannot be removed. I expect it may eventually get damaged from being hit on things. The headset is not too heavy but your ears will get a bit sweaty with long wear, especially in hot weather. I do not recommend wearing sleeping with it on.Pairing is simple as expected but you can only pair one device at a time. My other Bluetooth devices connect to 2 at once. When you turn the headphones off it simply cuts the power, so your phone will not get the message for some time. It will think it is still connected and will continue playing in silence. The battery life is very good. Rechargeable AAs are very convenient and it even has a micro-usb port to charge the batteries if you've put some NIMH ones in there. The noise isolation is good but not as good as other earmuffs I've used. It's a little lower than using earplugs. The volume goes very high. I think the decibel limiter must not interfere with the Bluetooth as it can go very loud. Unfortunately there is always a crackling, ringing, or popping noise in the background.Overall, I couldn't get over the sound interference. There was always a sort of "pffft", "p-p-p-p-p", or "CHK!" noise going on (it's hard to convey via text but you get the idea). I ended up requesting a return.Maybe I got a lemon - if so then the non-defective model would be great. If you want to take that gamble go with the Amazon direct sellers as returns are very simple.

Shallow earcup padding and shallow ear cushion foam
Bought these as they were the only corded hearing protection headphones I have foundPros: plug and go, no silly blue tooth to connect and no batteries to chargevolume knob on the headset, super convenientvery decent price on amazonCons:the padding around and in the ear cup is way too shallow and the speaker area start to push on and hurt the ear after only a few minutes.overall I was torn because in theory these were what I was looking for, but the damage being done to my ears by the speaker pressing on them was the deciding factor. So disappointed as I thought these were the ones. I wish a company would make a good soft deep cup earmuff with a cord!

Fair value for the money, poor bluetooth range.
First, the AM-FM radio sensitivity is very poor. I did not buy it for that so I will let that pass. The quality of the music is exceptional. I am using it with a Galaxy S6. The Bluetooth range is very poor. I am going to wait an see on that. At first, people were telling me while I was on the phone I was cutting out. I wasn't sure if that was noise cancelling or what, but then I was listening to a radio stations through an app and it was cutting out. I had to move the phone to same side as the microphone side. They claim range is about 3 meters, which is about right, unobstructed. I have bought inexpensive headsets that worked 30 feet or more. The outside noise reduction is excellent, preventing the need to turn the volume up to be able to hear what is going on in extremely noisy environments. The boom mic is very good about cancelling background noise. I like the easily accessible volume control. This is much less expensive than some of the ear muff Bluetooth headsets. When a call comes in, it tells you what the # of the incoming call. My first impression is I know it's limitations and can live with them. I am probably going to call Elvex about the Bluetooth range. It does pair with the phone easily, both the initialization and reconnected once it is on the paired list.

Sounds good to me
I bought these head phones for my husband who runs heavy machinery for a logging company. I was actually really happy to see that they are supplied specifically by a forestry products company. Before this my husband was using regular ear muffs with headphone speakers placed inside as kind of a home made version but we were constantly buying new headphones. Time had come to update the ear muffs as they were getting worn out and I decided to give these a shot. We got them within the estimated delivery time, a little before actually, and we're in Canada. I pulled them out of the box and gave them a listen to make sure they were working and they were and sounded pretty good. My husband took them to work the next day and said that with the machine sounds and everything they can be a little quiet sometimes, though that could be because of a couple things, 1) he listens to books on tape which can be a little quieter by recorded nature and 2) he also wears ear plugs as well as using ear muffs, he is very careful about making sure his hearing is protected while running machine. All in all, good product, sound quality seems good and so far I haven't heard any other complaints from my husband who uses them.

A little disappointed
They don't block out my mower as well as I had hoped. Especially since they are abnormally large. I got these to replace some old Stihl ones that are ready to be tossed.I bought them because they were advertised as being deeper than standard ear protection. The goal was to fit Bose noise cancelling ear buds in them when I mow. But the foam comes right up to your ear. If they did a better job of cutting the noise off, I would consider carving out a little bit of the foam to make room for the ear buds. They seem to be built well. Not sure why they don't block out the noise better.

Pretty cool
I dont use it for chopping down trees or anything like it is made for. I Got it so that I dont have to hear my upstairs neighbors creaking. However I got new neighbors now and they are not as fat so the floor does not creak as much so I dont really need it for that anymore. These are still great for when I am real stoned or shroomed out and want to experience my music in its uninterrupted beauty
