Update: 3rd yr started ..My fears are no more, this worked for my in ground gunite pool.
The media could not be loaded. Update new pictures after all 3 yrs use. Update spring 2019 and now Aug 2018. This is still going. This stayed in my pool , in the water for about 6 months too. The power box still works. The rubber brush under is deteriorating. Wheels still work. Bag elastic is stretch and yellow paint faded. The best part the motor pump is working fine and since there are no other Mechanical parts it has out lasted my past expensive robot pool cleaners. Those pool cleaners that have wheel driven by a belt, those belts will break and or have gears from the motor to the wheels. Those gears to the wheels also break eventually costing more. This is a simple design that works to clean less mechanical breakdown.36 months cost is about 7 - 8 bucks so far. I thought I would need to get a new motor, but it is still working well.I found out it has a safety notification if something gets stuck in the motor and stops it from moving to not damage the motor. It blinks off an on. So I flipped it over and found a string stopping the motor from spinning. I unscrewed the plastic filter that covers the motor, removed the string. Reattach the filter cover. And it worked like normal.Update July 2018. Another season. And it is still working well for my pool. This has been underwater for several months constant and the motor still working and moving all around. My pool is about 15,000-17,000 gal inground salt water. Deep end is 6ft and slope up to 4ft deep. Shape of pool is rectangle and the rover does go up the curved edge to about 2 feet up.First, all robotic pool cleaners will break eventually. So what has the most bang for the buck? I have had 3 pools at 3 homes and all used some kind of automatic pool cleaner.Compare the 3 types. Pressure, suction and electric robot type.I have used the booster pressure expensive Hayward cleaner, wheels and bags break down, and need a booster pump to run. Cost is about 500 bucks to buy, and Cost more $$ to run because of electricity of the booster, and loud pump. Wheels and the inside gears are expensive too. Cleaning is so- so, will get the small stuff but not the larger leaves. It can climb walls.Suction type cleaner, like the kreppy krawly, hose that goes to your wier and straight to the pump. These can cost about 250 name brand. but I have had good luck with a generic one that was only 80 bucks in Amazon. It picks up well for the small stuff. But not the larger debris. It can climb the wall. So I still use this one, can only run when the pool pump is on. Less expensive, but does clog your filter faster, so get the canister attachment and put a fine mesh bag in it also.Expensive, very expensive robotic pool cleaners. I have had the 500-1000k cleaners, I think 4 of them in my lifetime. The big name brands too, dolphin, Hayward, IRobot and aquabot . These clean the best and cost less to run and can run without your pool pump on.But it cost so much money to buy, and the more complicated ones have more things to break down. The pump in these alone can cost 300$+ and real hard to replace and if the wheels are driven, it has belts that will go bad. My IRobot Vero had the belts replaced two times. One of my other Dolphin, the pump went out-Trash can it went since the motor is so expensive and the work to replace was so complicated to waterproof it again. This one is a Aquabot jet style. This has a more simple design and no driven wheels by belts. I have owned two other Aquabot cleaners. The turbo jet, and Jr robot. The turbo jet was a great cleaner. I still see some on sale.So they all will break,( look it up) , pay 1000+ or this one that cost me 200. If it only last a few seasons, why get the most expensive one? So I bought this one for 200 bucks. This one I was worried it wouldn't work with my small in ground pool. Two types of filter bags, the real fine micro fiber bag actually , will pick up alge for opening the pool for the season. But... Once it picks up alge, it makes the robot move slow and will eventually not move. Need to clean the bag a lot, like every 5 minutes. Now the second bag is the normal mesh, and and will hold sand and larger debris like leaves too. This one allows more filtration so the robot will move around fine. It has not stopped with this bag, and can go up the wall to its own length Only. But the jet will blow strong pressure water up the wall, so it can keep the walls somewhat clean that way.Overall, I am happy with this purchase, and hopefully it will last more than a few seasons. But the only thing that can break will be the pump, and it looks easy enough to replace compared to the other expensive ones. The price for the motor list 129.98 part number 40-013.My pool is about 17000 gals gunite in ground rectangle pool. It is the deepest 6ft, and has a slope. I will use my Aquabot when larger items are in my pool, and put it in the garage when not in use, and use my generic kreppy krawly suction more daily when not swimming in the pool.

Give it a chance!
I purchased the Aquabot S2-50 Pool Rover with a healthy degree of skepticism due to the reviews... especially given that I have an in ground pool and the reviews are not overwhelmingly great when it comes to in ground pools.I unboxed it, threw it in the pool and within a half hour was convinced that I was going to send it back with a scorching bad review. It almost immediately didn’t want to climb the angled walls of my 16x32 pool, never mind making back out of the deep-end and up the slope to the shallow-end, which it didn’t seem to be able to do either.I was less than impressed, but my wife convinced me to give it some time. What I found was the liner of my pool was much more dirty than I realized. When I took the Aquabot out of the pool and looked at the internal filter it was much more full of, not just large debris, but also minuscule dirt/scum materials than I expected. Even after regular cleanings by manual vacuuming and using a creepy crawler/through the filter type vacuum the Aquabot continued to pull more and more out each time it was sent around. After a number of trips through the pool with a good cleaning of the filter after each time the Aquabot had no issues climbing all of the angled walls of my pool.I’ve had it for a month or more now and it makes cleaning much easier, my pool owning experience much better and it still works great!

Doesn't work! Only cleans one small section for 2 hours!
So far I don't like it. Had it for a week and used it 4x for a total of 8 hours. Pool is still not clean. I've tried placing it in different areas and it still only goes to the one area. It will go completely across the pool, sit there, then go completely back to clean the exact same spot it was cleaning for the past half hour. My husband changed the pin in the axle and it did the exact same thing. Not once has this robot traversed the entire pool. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to manually vacuum, but so far this robot is looking like a complete waste of money. I'll give it a little longer but unless something drastically changes it's going back. I can't justify this amount of money for something that works this inferior.

Works well, BUT when it works
Next Update: The machine got repaired again. The blower motor was replaced and now it works great. It is important that I keep the water ph balanced and not leave the machine in over night.Update: Called the company and they are having me ship it back again at my cost. Luckily I kept the box that they shipped to us the other time.Bought this May 2013 and it worked well for months. Liked how much it cleaned the bottom of the pool and helps filter the water - our pool was sparkling. Then we had an issue of the power not responding anymore and had to send it back to the manufacturer. I learned at that time, not to keep the Rover in the pool too long (pull it out each time it is done). We got it back on Dec. 2013 with a new cord attachment. It seemed to work well until now April 2014 - again having trouble with it responding to the power. I now baby the machine taking it out everyday and cleaning the bags frequently and still having a power issue. I hope this can be resolved because I do like the way it works.

Works okay. Brushes don't move should of bought 1 model lower.
It gets about 70% of what is on the bottom. The brushes that are on it are pretty much worthless. I have a 33 ft diameter pool and it has a hard time with the pool. It gets tangled behind the ladder often. I would give it a 3.5 out of 5.

Crappy Pool Cleaner
This unit didn’t pick up most debris. It’s just moves it around. Horrible unit. Tried to sell on Kajiji but ended up throwing it out.

Good product - cleans well but in 1/3 of cases ...
Delivered very fast - in 2 days. Good product - cleans well but in 1/3 of cases leaves dirty spots about 50 sq. feet. Need to start cleaning again placing the robot on this spot directly. In 2 cases the robot stack in a corner continue doing same pattern over and over again.
