I installed this myself in the winter below freezing. The assembly was very easy but the installation is not as easy in the cold because you need to keep the concrete from freezing. I read the instructions that you only needed to put the pole 20" below grade but our footings in Cleveland Ohio are below 36" to prevent it from heaving so I went down to 42" put in a 4" PVC with #4 Rebare basket around the 4" PVC filled the PVC with concrete to the recommended 20" below grade to insert the sleeve using concrete that sets in the cold (supplemental heat) and topping concrete (without stone in the mix). Make certain the pole is level before installing the topping concrete. This pole went through 40mph winds with flag installed and I will keep it up and flying the entire winter.The telescoping pole is great for residential application you do not need a 12' ladder to change the flag it lowers to your reach.The top solar flag pole light is OK but initially on a wintered cloudy day it varied in lumen output with the amount of sun during the day.It is now the focal point of our home and front yard and neighborhood. a perfect height.You will be very happy.As you can see I go to the extremes with the structural integrity of the base to make certain this pole will not be forced out of plumb with the excessive winds off of lake Eire. (Maybe too excessive by going to 3'6" in depth my choice not recommended by the manufacture)

Bought my Ezpole 17 foot Liberty pole in 2014. Living in Nebraska where we are subject to frequent storms with high winds and hail. I usually lower the pole to it's lowest point and remove our two flags when we are likely to get hit by them. Afterwards I just reattach the flags raise the pole sections and lock it in place.This past weekend we got hit by a no-notice severe thunderstorm where the winds went from 0 to 78-87 mph winds. Rain was horizontal with pea to marble size hail with the most fierce lightning strikes close by. This cause the top cap to break off the top of the pole. Yet the lower swivels stayed attached despite the wet weight of the flags attached. All during that storm the pole stayed upright. Now you tell me. Do you think a Chinese Made flagpole would hold up to that???Today I called Ezpole and told them what happened and that I wanted to order a new cap after confirming what I would need to do to replace it. They asked me for my mailing address and I asked them to hold on while I got my credit card to pay for the top cap. They said don't bother, just give them my address and they will mail it out in the morning! NO CHARGE!So this pole has withstood lots of high winds constantly since I bought and installed our Ezpole in front of our house. Without issue until this weekend's storm. Only took up to 80+ mph wind to break off that plastic part! Obviously this company builds quality products. Top it off with OUTSTANDING Customer Service like I received..... If you are looking for an adjustable flag pole, the Ezpole is it. And NO, I'm not receiving any promotional pay back for this review today.I'm just a very pleased owner of this product since 2014.

The installation instructions are clear, however, I agree with another reviewer that you want to have more than 80lbs of concrete mix. I used 140 lbs and the hole wasn't completely filled. My hole was closer to 14" diameter. Also, watch the top of the ground sleeve. I followed the directions for depth of hole and amount of stone. I ended up watching that closer than the actual sleeve height and the sleeve was about 2" lower than I would have liked. Other than that the pole set great in the sleeve and the pole went up and secured at proper height. No issues locking it in place. Flag and pole look great. This is the first week up so I can't tell you about longevity. There is a plastic cap included that you can put over the ground sleeve if you want to take the pole out of the ground during rough weather. I find that a nice feature. So far, very pleased with product.

Highly recommend this flag pole. Spent a lot of time researching into a good flag pole to display our red, white and blue. The reviews for this one seemed good, but was a higher price than others I'd seen. Definitely worth investing the money into a stronger one like this, plus the unique twist and lock system is superb...very easy to raise and lower the pole. Comes with the sleeve to slide the pole into, which it recommends you bury 24 inches and in 80lbs of concrete. Also came with all the parts necessary to fly two flags at the same time.Update: After 18 months this flag pole is still going like the day we bought it and put it up. Plus the US flag that came with it is actually very high quality and really shows off your patriotism. It has outlived a number of garden flags that seem to fray and rip. Yes the flag has faded a little, but the rest of it is perfect still.Update: 4 years later still going strong. Gone through a few flags, but the pole itself stands strong and like the day I put it in. Recommend highly.

UPON RECIVING THE 17" TELESCOPING FLAG POLE KIT I NOTICED NO BOTTOM SWIVELS TO HOLD THE BOTTOM GROMMET OF THE FLAG. SO AFTER DOING ALL THE WORK TO DIG AND CEMENT THE SLEEVE FOR THE FLAG POLE IT BASICALLY WORTHLESS WITH OUT THE BOTTOM SWIVELS TO MOUNT THE SINGLE FLAG, MUCH LESS TWO FLAGS. THIS IS NOT A FALT OF AMAZON THEY PROVIDED A REPLACEMENT RIGHT AWAY AND IT SHOWED UP THE NEXT DAY AND STILL NO BOTTOM SWIVELS..HOWEVER EZPOLE HAS NOT RETURNED ANY OF MY MESSAGES AND OR EMAILS ABOUT THE ISSUE

I used this for my starlink and it worked great. I was thinking of flying one of my flags with it but it didn't come with the clips. Good things that was not my main purpose or else I would have given no stars for this. It has been sturdy in strong winds. The locking system was tricky to figure out at first but once I did it works well which is what I wanted to make sure my starlink didn't fall down.
