THIS is like the 4th or 5th immersion blender li've had. the last one caught on fire while i was using it, which wasn't such a bad thing cuz it was hard to put together and use.this one ix the opposite- it comes apart which is good for cleaning and it goes back together easily and very discernibly, so you KNOW when it's on, not like the last one!works very well, both speeds, i'm very npleased with it- and VERY GOOD value for money

We used to have one of these but it eventually broke. New one is even better as they made the blades detachable.

I use a hand blender every day for making my bullet-proof coffee. My 25+ year old 120W Braun hand blender finally quit on me, so I needed a replacement. I soon discovered there are countless hand blenders on Amazon and I checked out (and ultimately returned) a couple of well-reviewed, high-powered hand blenders before realizing that this unique Proctor Silex hand blender is the ONLY one that is perfect for my needs. Here's what I realized I wanted and needed to AVOID, with the Proctor Silex seeming to be the only hand blender on Amazon that manages to avoid ALL of these "Cons":- High Price- Far More Power Than Necessary (Are the watts ratings largely marketing hype? Although I admittedly use my countertop blender for any serious blending/chopping needs, for 25+ years I always felt my 120W Braun hand blender was very powerful. Do I really need - or even want - up to 8 times more power??? I use my hand blender daily - do I really want the size and top-heavy weight that goes along with the majority of hand blenders?).- Heavy weight / Top heavy / Overly tall / Extremely prone to falling over (sometimes causing things to go flying, breakage, need for big clean-ups, etc.!)- Scratch inducing stainless steel blade guards- Wide diameters that won't fit into my wide-mouth thermos' 2.5 inch openingThis Proctor Silex hand blender uniquely manages to avoid all of these cons. It has plenty of power for my needs, and I love its lightweight, compact, well-balanced, slender design. It weighs half as much (or less) than the larger, over-powered hand blenders. It's inexpensive, at 13.1 inches it is 2-4 inches shorter than others, it's slender design allows it to fit down into my wide-mouth thermos, isn't so extremely top-heavy that it stands begging to be toppled over, and its plastic blade guard won't scratch containers, pots, pans etc.Does it look and feel like an expensive, high-end kitchen appliance? No. Will it meet everyone's requirements? No. Is it the ONLY hand blender on Amazon that I found that is EXACTLY what I was looking for? YES!

I purchased this hand blender in order to effectively blend soaps. I am new to soap making and read on multiple blogs that having a hand blender is a necessary part of any soap making endeavor. It allow for a more homogeneous mixture and speeds up the saponification process, which is integral to any soap making recipe. You cannot use a regular hand mixer, which I already had, and so it was necessary for me to purchase this product. My specifications for a stick blender was simply that it was the most inexpensive blender and that reviews showed it would mix the oil/lye mixture effectively.After combining the oils, I used this blender to mix the oils and lye together. It allowed for a quick homogenization of the oils and lye and the saponification process took maybe 5 minutes. This was much quicker than I anticipated. The mixer is made mostly of plastic, which I expect the lye will "eat away" after many uses, but the stainless steel blade at the bottom should remain in-tact. It performed well in it's "maiden voyage" and I anticipate it will do well in future batches. If this does not or if it breaks down sooner than expected, I will surely update my review as applicable.When creating my reviews I take in to full consideration the quality of the product, communication with the seller, and longevity of the product. The only reason I purchased it was to make mayonnaise in a mason jar. The blender started out fine, but failed to grab onto the mayo once it started to thicken up.

Blends well. I can do about 2 batches of soap before it starts to get too hot to use. I like the button on it...much easier than other brands.

I've gone through 3 purchases to finally get something that works without flaws! I made the mistake of purchasing "usb personal blenders" to make bulletproof coffee at work. They were not compatible with warm drinks and was a nuisance to clean. I needed something for work as I'm making the drink in the office. It was too bothersome to buy an actual blender.I was hesitant with purchasing this hand mixer as it isnt aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Boy was I wrong. It works like a charm! I use it to mix 2 tbsp of ghee with 1 tbsp mct oil together with 8oz coffee. Blends super well , easy to clean !. My coffee is perfect every morning.

Didn't last the first use. Completely useless rubbish.

This produced homemade mayo in just 10 seconds! I had no idea mayonnaise would emulsify that quickly! I'm so glad I grabbed this fun tool. Looking forward to many more sauces experiments with this.
