Wedge Kit for Ring Video Doorbell (1st Gen)

I didn’t realize when purchasing my first ring doorbell that since we have three steps that come up to our porch, the doorbell would have a limited detection zone. At first we were just going to use some shims behind it and fashion one ourselves, we’re pretty handy, but then I found this and clicked, yes please, send them to me.This installed in about ten minutes and we used all three pieces and it worked perfectly. As a bonus the gap between the doorbell and the pieces provides a nice little pocket for your wire nuts when hard wiring your doorbell. I love when a product does what it says it will. This wedge kit does!

I needed this to angle my ring doorbell down, to reduce motion alerts from passing vehicles, because my front door is three steps up from the sidewalk.Easy to install. It did reduce false alerts. These kits used to contain three wedges, now they only give you two. Thankfully, I didn't need a third wedge.They match the doorbell well, but it's a lot of money for two pieces of plastic.

The biggest problem I have was that the screws holes were too small for the screws that came with it and I had a very difficult time trying it secure it. Correct size looks good.

There is about a 2 foot step up from ground level to installing the Ring next to the door and 1wedge has it at the proper angle for getting satisfactory coverage. Two are shipped per package making the one that was needed unnecessarily expensive and the other wasteful. Fortunately it worked. Also, I did spray paint it.

Does the job.

As described. You might have to find additional long screws depending upon where you plan on installing it. But other than that no issues.

Used this in opposite fashion to angle the doorbell upwards due to the viewing angle of my doorbell. It was cutting the head-off in the frame. 1 wedge was used to tilt the doorbell slightly up. Looks finished and now the angle is perfect.Would recommend to anyone with the same issue. Very easy to install and didn't even need a drill to make new holes for the wedge. Screws tapped right into my storm-door trim. Seems very secure.

I would have given 5 stars except this came to over 30 dollars with shipping. There is nothing proprietary about it. It can probably be made at the source for 35 cents. Save your money if you have a woodworking shop, cut a wedge at 5 to 15 degrees, sand it, paint it and Bob's your uncle. I gave it 4 stars because it does what it's advertised to do. Any other high end product would have included the accessory....this simply left a bad taste in my mouth and I will never purchase another RING product nor endorse it.

I have a set of 4 stairs leading to my front door and the motion detection feature on my ring doorbell was not triggering when people would walk directly to my front door in clear view of the camera which has been installed exactly as instructed. Ring recommended I buy the wedge kit which I did and it has not improved the situation at all. In fact, I think it’s less reliable than it was without the wedges. I have tried every single combination of motion settings possible as well as having tried using 1, 2, and 3 wedge pieces and I am still having major problems with the motion detection feature. It is not reliable in the slightest. I can not recommend this product as it seems to have been a complete waste of money. I have uninstalled the wedges and gone back to the doorbell alone. I have just accepted the fact that the doorbell will only reliably work if someone actually “rings” it. Very disappointed.

This product does what it promises and is sturdy. Thats all.Looking at previous reviews, the price has come down but it is still questionable high, which makes you wonder why you're paying for prime when the shipping cost is CLEARLY added to this product. It is maybe $0.30 of ABS plastic, and has no tight tolerances so it's not a tooling cost.If you have a 3D printer, or know someone who does... ask them instead of paying $15 for literal plastic molding.

I bought the wedge kit along with a "Ring" video door bell. I though I would need it to install the door bell but I did not use it. The standard mount was fine.I do point out that the wedge kit only helps in up and down view. It will not do side to side if that is what you need.The angle of view on the Ring is more than enough to see the front door although I fabricated my side wedge myself to help the angle of view.Make sure you need it for your mounting.

Unbelievable that RING would issue such a deceptive packaging, Package is stated as 18.8 x 14.1 x 3,9 cm, so one woud assume the brackets /wedges are somewhat smallerBelieve it. the wedges are only 10 x 4.5 cm, what a joke.Must fit a bell build last century.The packaging, consisting of a plastic bag is way overdone,No info was given as to which bell this was to fit,Buyers be ware when you buy anything from anyone ensure there is a full description as well as all measurements available,The measurements should be of the article and not the packagingThis was a complete wasteof money and landed in tjhe rubbish bin
