Great book for ultrasound researchers and students
This book is fantastic, because it begins with the basic theory of acoustical physics, and it develops some chapters on ultrasound application. Great opportunity to learn with Dr. Cobbold!

Superior content, inferior print quality
This is an excellent textbook that covers all relevant aspects of medical ultrasound imaging. The content is well-structured. A strength of this textbook is the clear derivation of a physical model for the propagation and scattering of ultrasonic waves in biological soft tissues emphasizing the underlying assumptions. Important concepts like the angular spectrum of plane waves are included as well.Unfortunately, considering its high price, the print quality of the book I received is unacceptable:The text is covered by smears and artifacts on every third or fourth page (see attached image). The captions in several images are pixelated. Before this purchase, I borrowed the book from my university's library. The print quality of the borrowed book was sound.
