Master Tailgaters Replacement for Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, 3500 (2016-2019) Backup Camera OE Part # 84062896, 23363727

My GMC is 5 years old. The camera went south almost 3 years ago. The image from this camera is better than the factory camera was from new. I did have to drop the spare to have easy access to the harness. Installation time, from lowering the spare to raising it back up, took only about 30 minutes. I should've switched out the original junk as soon as it failed. Hint: When threading the connector through the hole in the tailgate, reach into the hole in the bottom of the gate. There's a torsion bar in there. If it's moved out of the way, just slightly, the connector will fit through the hole more easily.

This takes some minor know how to install, but it created a crystal clear image on screen to replace my broken OEM unit. The hardest part was figuring out how to take off the wiring harness clips from GM. A length of rope zip tied to the new wiring harness allowed me to feed it through the hole in the bottom of the tail gate, and then installation was a snap. Fits perfectly on 2018 GM trucks. This would have also fit my 2016 GMC Sierra 1500.

The original camera image quality was not that good. This unit is much clearer, colors are better, night performance is better.

The camera is much better that the original one that came in my 2018 Silverado. The install took about an hour for the install. Only challenge is I was expecting the back up lines to be yellow and red and unfortunately they are not. The picture is much clearer but not high definition.

Sharper image and better color picture at low light. Smile to myself every time I back up.

Never happy with the original camera on my 2018 GMC Denali HD. This was fairly easy to replace and it was plug and play. I love the results, so glad I did it. Thanks Master Tailgaters!

In the reviews of this product what you will find is a lot of low reviews from people who do not read.This is a replacement backup camera for the Sierra truck. Not a HD upgrade, not a 4K upgrade, not an upgrade at all. Simply a replacement.If your current backup camera is foggy, cracked, broken as they all get then this is the perfect OEM replacement equivalent.Install was a breeze. Everything fit as if it was factory. The image is crystal clear ( not Hd, as even if the camera was, the display is not).This is a excellent quality unit. I will review again after it’s been in the truck for sometime should quality decrease or it malfunctions.

great camera better than the factory camera only slight issue was is where they put the tie for the lock actuator was to close and made it a bit tight to install by apporx 1/2 inch i was able to get the cable to move enough to get it to connect and lock into the connector overall great product clear picture and fit directly into place

I called my GMC dealership to check the part number and get a price...they quoted me $320 + $150 to install (CDN). So this is half the price and not that hard to install...it's mostly around fiddling with the wires. There are a couple of YouTube videos that cover the installation well.You can see the clarity is much improved between old and new. This is not an HD camera - the screen isn't HD either so it wouldn't matter much but at least now I will be able to see the hitch more clearly for hooking up the trailer!

Very easy to instal with the exception of the electrical jack under the truck. That procedure took most of the time, so all together about and hour minus 35 mins of trying to get the jack apart which is was not this products fault. 2016 3500 duramax Silverado.

This camera works perfectly and better than the original. I’m very satisfied with the camera and highly recommend it.
