a fun accessory that works reasonably well
I bought this prior to a trip to the USVI so my daughter could record her snorkeling dives. It worked well, but we had a couple of issues:- The screw that is provided for the GoPro clamp is not stainless and rusted the first time we took it in the ocean. I tossed it and repalced it with a spare GoPro screw that I had on hand.- The Go-Pro clamp inserts into the collapsible shaft of the monopod with an interference fit. On several occasions, when I was attaching the GoPro the head came off in my hands. I use a Floaty door on my case, so I was not at risk of losing my camera when underwater.Overall, a fun accessory that works reasonably well.

Great selfie kit for the price
This selfie kit was pretty good, although it wasn't the best I've seen. For the price, can't really beat it though. The attachment for the GoPro is excellent and is very tight. The cell phone selfie attachment however is the reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5. The small rubber piece on the top that holds the phone in has a tendency to fall out if the user isn't careful. The grip will hold a phone without a case securely however once a phone is used that has a case on it, with a little movement here and there, it'll fall out. Needs to be designed to hold it much better.Overall, pretty happy with it.

Second Update 8/5/14 - Broke right away
I bought this monopod for several reasons: I liked the length and the base can be mounted on a standard camera mount. The problem is that when I went to tighten the knob that controls the pivot angle, the knob broke right off - and I hadn't even gotten a chance to mount the camera yet! Other thoughts are that when fully extended, it's not super sturdy, but i wouldn't consider it flimsy, though. I'm sending this back for a replacement - hopefully the next one won't break.7/1/14 UpdateOn June 10 I received an email from Pioneer Marketing Products about my experience with the GoPro Monopod."Thank you for your product feedback. We do understand that some of our product had a part defect, and we have justmodified it. Would you like to have a free replacement to give a try to our newly modifiedmonopod?" I replied, "That would be very kind of you. Thank you." They sent me a new, modified version of the monopod. As you can see from the product pictures, a dedicated GoPro mount is now directly attached to the monopod telescoping rod, thus eliminating the faulty knob the caused the original problem. After I received the free replacement, PMP called me directly to see if I had received the replacement and asked for my feedback on the improvement. I told them that I liked the new design and thought it would work well. The only adjustment they need to make is to supply a longer mount thumbscrew with the monopod so that the end knob sticks out past the body of the GoPro housing. The short thumbscrew they supplied with the monopod is difficult to adjust as the knob rubs against the camera housing when you try to tighten or loosen it. That is the only reason I now rate the monopod at 4 stars instead of 5. After PMP reads my updated review, I would not be surprised if they sent me a longer replacement thumbscrew to remedy this problem. Their customer service is impressive!8/5/14 Latest UpdateAs I predicted, PMP did send me a longer replacement thumbscrew after my previous feedback! They also stated that they were changing their shipments to include the longer thumbscrew with all their monopods now. You rarely see customer service like this today. I've now changed my rating to 5 stars! They have surpassed my expectations.

Great idea, one MAJOR flaw!
Perfect little tool for GoPro's and the like. I ordered this Handle Grip extendable monopod because my wife and I were heading for Hawaii in a few days on a vacation we have been planning for months. We had never been, and were treating our aging parents to the trip with us.I decided to buy a GoPro about a week before we left. I also bought every accessory I thought I might need for documenting our trip, from walking tours at the Polynesian, to snorkeling with the turtles etc. I figured the extendable, waterproof monopod was an excellent idea for several reasons… 1) to extend the GoPro to a distance closer to sea life while snorkeling, without being so disruptive or intimidating to the sea life, and 2) to take plenty of quick photos (selfies) of our group with myself included without having to set up a tripod or asking someone else to take the picture. What a great product to accomplish those two things, all while it folds up to a nice, storable, carryable, packable 9.5"!It arrived within 48 hours (love Prime!), and within 2 minutes of opening the package (and two days before our trip), I broke the tightening knob right off the screw, just by tightening it with what I consider normal pressure. I couldn't believe my eyes! I thought it must have been a fluke, a one-in-a-thousand defect! I had only loosened the knob, adjusted the tilt head, and tightened it back… and the stinking knob just came off into my hand… no snap, crack, or pop… just twisted off from the screw it had been attached to. I quickly grabbed some super glue and pressed it back together, hoping to make it as though nothing had ever happened. That seemed to work, but as I did it, I noticed there was very little surface area where the knob separated from the screw. I thought I better be safe and order a second one… it was still two days before departure, and Prime was available (did I mention I LOVE Prime?!?)I got the second monopod just in time, perfect! I left it in the package and through it in the suitcase, and off we went. The morning after we arrived at Turtle Bay, we went to Sharks Cove to see the famous turtles. I grabbed my handy, NEW enKo Products Handle Grip Monopod, added the GoPro tripod head mount, loosened the thumb screw, adjusted the tilt to roughly 90 degrees, tightened the knob back up, and would you believe it if I told you the stupid knob effortlessly twisted off right into my hand AGAIN! YES, AGAIN!I had no choice but to use it anyway. Prime wasn't going to save me AGAIN. Luckily the tilt screw was just tight enough when the knob broke off, to hold the GoPro steady enough to use. The weight of the GoPro with any abrupt movement, would cause the camera to move, but if I was very careful, it would stay in place. I've been using it for several days now, still in Hawaii, but am still shaking my head at the thought of this design flaw. Even though it crossed my mind that maybe I was the problem… over tightening it, I have to say, I really don't think so. Anyone securing a piece of camera equipment worth $200-$500 on the end of a stick wants to make sure it's not going to flail and flop around, so I think we deserve the ability to make sure the tightening screw is TIGHT!!
